Hey Mezla, you wanna ride in sandals (how the f*ck does one pull up on the pedals in sandals?????) go for it, shite, I wear lycra (& it's probably not the greatest fashion statement, but my butt is super comfy in Vermarc stuff) & all the associated 'riding gear', but whatever floats your boat brother, I'm not Mr super fashionable as none of my bikes are 5 figure stuff (usually buy a cheap frame & build from there, except the Pro & ATX which were both brand spankers when I got them), mate whatever you're comfy with. I don't ride for anyone else but myself, the way I look at it, if you're enjoying yourself & you're not hurting anyone else (except maybe their optic nerves) then whatever does it for you.

Go for it, who cares what anyone else thinks, I don't.

Mate, I'm not sure but having seen a couple of short rides, including one of my own, my reckoning is that anything outdoors counts.

I just saw my graph for the first time, baby there's some work to be done. I did jump 300 places on bikejournal this morning after my second ride for the year.

Alrighty, sounds like the etiquette is: If you ride it, log it.

Cool :)

And lol, Wal, usually I ride in all the gear... although... these do interest me :D

PS: WHY IS MY BIKEJOURNAL THINGY NOT WORKING

Have you checked this.
Just in case it's this check that your "keep my goals private" is UNchecked. It's under the distance goal for 2012 on BJ. Also make sure your BJ user name is exactly the same ad here.

My "green thing" is working, and my goal is 10000+ . Does this mean I am OK to play here? :?:

To log 10,000k for 2012 will require 27.33k per day for the 366 days of the year. I'm going to work towards 1,000k per month with the expectation that I'll have a couple of lean months during winter. Having said that, I think a fairing for the front of my new recumbent would help keep the wind off the feet :D . I bought my new Bacchetta Corsa at the end of November and this evenings ride pushed me through 1,300km to date.

Good luck and tailwinds with achieving your goals.

Cheers, Mathew

Rode my first century for the year. Great ride from Temora to Ariah Park, Barmedman, then return to Temora = 108.6km. You blokes and blokettes looking to do more than 15,000km are amazing and I take my hat (helmet  ) off to you.

Ranked 13th (BJ - world) and 3rd (BJ - BNA) as of this morning. Looking to fall down the rankings as others start kicking in for the year. Should take a screen shot for posterities sake :P .

Cheers, Mathew

notwal, I grabbed my rankings from the "BikeJournal" website. I'm just taking the opportunity to be a little bit boastful early in the year. Being realistic, I'll be dropping down the rankings rapidly once other long distance riders start logging their efforts for the year.

I probably would've done a nice long proper ride... ~100... but I had to teach a lady newby how to ride a roady. Time well spent!... but a lost riding opportunity. Too much good tennis on to go out again today :D
