Found a Bianchi Sempre frameset going on Bikeexchange at an unbelievable price and couldn't resist the temptation to build my own bike!

The frame finally arrived yesterday and it is absolutely beautiful! Probably not enough Celeste to satisfy a true Bianchisti but I love the neutral colours.

I am going to really enjoy this super stiff BB30!

Currently finalising my choices and getting ready to hit the 'go' button...it is definitely going to be fitted with a Campagnolo groupset and wheels and probably FSA components. Hopefully the stuff will make it here in time for me to tinker around over the Christmas break. Planning to do it all myself except for fitting the crankset.

Magnificent.

I'm a Bianchi and Campy tragic so please keep the photos coming.

Not sure what level you are looking at for the build but Zondas etc are quite reasonable on Wiggle etc at the minute.

Celeste is definitely an acquired taste. I love Bianchi's and have owned one for almost a year and half but find it difficult to commit to a Celeste bike.

Love it some days and hate it on others.

Picked up a couple of pieces for the build and have my Campy grouppo and wheels on their way!

After seeing this review by Competitive Cyclist I've decided to give a FSA Wing Pro Compact a try.

That's too funny. It's exactly the same saddle I have on my Mono-Q.
I like the look of those bars.
Record gruppo arrividercied in the post today, and it's molto bene.
Now I'm wondering if it does not deserve a new frame. I like the look of those bars. I have a compact drop and it looks and feels very nice.

White saddle = must have white bar tape.

lucky we don't all have to have the same taste or lack thereof- depending on perspective.

Would Celeste still be a nice colour if it was giant or trek's company signature colour?

Thank you ShinyBikes! I talked myself into going Campagnolo Chorus 11 all round...for about $300 over Centaur I get lots of gorgeous carbon goodness...or else I would have been forever lusting after what coud have been.

Shinybikes were awesome to deal with but so far i have only received 1 of 2 packages that were split up to fly under the radar. They were happy to substitute a couple of the parts from the standard grouppo such as a KMC X11SL chain and BB30 press fit cups. After going through plenty of Ultremo's this year, decided to try out some Michelin Krylion Carbon tyres. It was rated as the best commuting tyre by one of the UK mags and come with claims of a 5k tyre life. They were ridiculously cheap too.

The Chorus crankset is a work of art. Just wondering how hard it is going to be to keep it scratch free! :roll:

Unfortunately the BB cups are in the next package and my plans to have the crank fitted this weekend may have to wait unless Parcel Force springs a surprise tomorrow.

Kudos to AusPost, second parcel from ShinyBikes arrived in Oz 11am last morning and got delivered home 11am this morning...on a Saturday!! Was really happy with that as I had just enough time to drop off the frame, BB & crank to be fitted today so hopefully by end next week I can start assembly. Hoping the Germans will have my wheels and other bits here by then too!

She's done!! (As of 11pm last night!)

Unfortunately my parts from Bike24 never turned up in time for the Chrissy break and were only delivered on Tue (in transit since 14/12!!). After a few late nights she is now complete and had my first road test in to work today.

What an awesome ride...very happy with the result! A one word description of the riding experience would be efficient. Feels like every tiny bit of effort is rewarded with motion. It is also so much sharper and agile compared to the Via Nirone. And the Campy Chorus is just so sweet and precise. Will post a full review and pics soon.

Some gratuitous pictures of the completed bike...

A few small personal touches yet to be added...along with the Garmin & lights. Very happy with the 7.6kg weight as pictured according to my kitchen scales.
