Policemen riding

Postby Apple » Thu Jan 12, 2012 1:48 pm

I was riding back from Pie in the sky todayand noticed 3 policemen in full uniform riding on the old pacific hwy on mountain bikes.
How impressive is that. I can’t say they were slim but it looks like they are riding as part of a training thing for the police force.

when you are in Adelaide you will see them everywhere in the city, some even wear "police" shorts!! :D . funny to see a looser trying to run from the cops down a road with the boys/girls in blue and yellow fluro chasing on the bikes. Most of the pedal patrol are fit though not donut and pie eaters on bikes!!

The Police Games are on in March, including cycling, and there is a bit of a push to get bike squads involved (award for the quickest squad, etc). Not surprised to see them out training.

Cheers,

They've been seen numerous times patrolling the M7 cycleway last year - particularly around school holidays.

I've also spotted them around the Parramatta and Sydney CBD. They've got some especially nice custom made

It's reassuring to see the bike patrols.

They're regulars in Campbelltown and Liverpool particularly Liverpool. The junkies don't notice them sneaking up to bust them.

The pink Lycra was Cathy, she has red hair and was coming down bobbin head as I was climbing up, I parked at the oval in North Turra I was with another friend I had the Pinerello and green jersey on. We finished about 11.30am.

I've nodded to a pair of Cycle Cops on the bike track part that goes from the Rydalmere ferry stop to Silverwater bridge section.

I've never seen a police cyclist in Sydney who had half a chance in a pursuit. They must be much fitter in SA

We also have them near where I live.

It is just a pity that they don't seem to think they need to obey the law like everybody else
