I've been intrigued by these things for a while now, and i'm looking at buying a new trainer anyway.....
Due to the expense involved, does anyone here have a set that I could have a try on??
Alternatively, has anyone tried them before, and could let me know their impressions of them?
cheers,
Jeremy
Anyone here own rollers?

I have a set, but they need a new belt.
Tricky things to ride, you certainly won't get bored, have to concentrate
More realistic than some other trainers, almost like being out on the ashphalt, apart from the wind in the face

Assuming they have a collection of rollers, you will find that different rollers have a different feel and/or resistance.
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

You mean like the resistance on a mag trainer? NoMountGower wrote:Are they not adjustable?
You vary resistance by selecting the appropriate gear and/or changing the cadience

I use these when I'm house bound. I have the mag unit but rarely use it as you can't change it on the fly.mikesbytes wrote:You mean like the resistance on a mag trainer? NoMountGower wrote:Are they not adjustable?

I started out using them in a doorway, which provided convenient support for shoulders or even hands when things got a little untidy.
As soon as you appreciate the need for a smooth pedal stoke it doesn't take long to master them.
