I'm genuinely ignorant. Do any of the cycle racing nations we're aspiring to be like force professionals to share roads with traffic during their time trial championships?
Well Australia on cycling terms is probably rated equal or higher than some of the old school heartlands these days... But put it this way... In my region you may / do share the road on club level tt's and rr's... But often the traffic will be diverted in to a one way system and have to stay behind you the whole time... At a departmental level usually the road will be closed. At regional level it will 100% be closed. At national level it would be closed, barried, bannered and populated with gendarmes
hey it's only right that if you want to be australian champion, you should be required to demonstrate your mettle in negotiating bogans shaving you as they pass and throwing soft drinks at you.

I'd pay to see "Get off our road, ya little w*g p@@f" yelled at Alberto Contador from a ute, along with the very real possibility that Contador might retaliate by reaching through the passenger window.
