Has anyone noticed any sort of advertising on nine anywhere for this event?

Up here in QLD on Win I haven't seen any mention of it.

How impressed would sponsors etc be?

I just sent an email to the TDU tourism people to tell them about how impressed cyclists are with the telecast times.

Better yet, does anybody have Mike Turter's email?? I emailed Channel 9 numerous times during their woeful Rugby World Cup coverage, only for the blame to be shifted to the programmers, which apparently could not be contacted by the public........

I hope Turter made a decent amount of money out of this deal, as 3 years of next to no coverage can only be negative for the event in the long run..........

Colour me unimpressed, was really looking forward to the TDU, an hour of highlights in the middle of the night and a pathetic "livestream" are not what I call coverage. New Zealand gets live coverage, yet the home of the race doesn't, sad.

9 are clearly massive supporters of cycling

Yes stream is on race has started, try refresh, or go to the nine msn site and try to connect through the cycling page.

I was excited and thought I would watch it on my la-di-da internet tv. Unfortunately cannot download the media player plug-in required.

Yep - the stream will not work in Safari on a Mac but it will work using Firefox although the image is small and grainy.

I get the same thing on my PC. Trouble is it won't tell me what Plugin I am missing, even after clicking on the jigsaw piece icon several times. Can anyone enlighten me please?

What? If they showed it live we would miss out on such television gold as "Two and a half men", "Antiques Roadshow" and other repeats they have decided to show tonight on their THREE channels.......

What a joke, I cant wait till Channel 9 goes broke.........
