Re: Cairns wet seasonUse a saddlebag? Your bum protects the top. Plastic shopping bag when the bike is parked will do the trick.
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Cairns wet seasonWhat do you reckon about the underneath, Bill? It is on my racing bike so no guards. It has had a coat of Proofride.

That's what the saddlebag is for I never had a problem with the clone saddle on me old OCR when I commuted on that but it wasn't doing much raining down here at the time. ...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.
