There are three rides that leave from DOME CAFÉ sandy bay on a Saturday morning
7:15 – top of bonnet and back (race) – and back by 8am for the next ride. This is for the mountain goats who also like to get an extra 25kms in before the next ride. We do the ride in about 40mins, average 30kmph return
8:00 – route decided on the day, variations of the route for those who have kids or a job to get back to
9:00 – gentlemen’s ride, cruise class ride to Kingston beach and back
*No one is ever left behind, many meet points along the way
Bring $$$ for post ride coffee

That was an epic ride, ended up doing 130km all up. The bunch was a lot faster than I expected but it was really good, I am definitely going to keep going to that as that will get my speed up and hopefully get me up to div 3 and be competitive. I also had to have a sleep once I got home.
I have to say when we took off up the bonnet I was thinking 'oh dear' I have bitten off more than I can chew here and thought I would blow up during the bunch ride.
Also get racing at the vets as there will be a few more riders at your level and faster ones that you can ride with to keep you working.
Also the DOME coffee was good, there are now two places in Hobart where I can order long blacks and not have to add sugar.

Dont think this is entirely correct...Rey was left out the back of Richmond and Iaintas and I rode another 30kms looking for him whilst the bunch went back to Dome. Thankfully Iain stayed with me because I hit the wall. What was supposed to be a 80k ride turned into a 126k with no food, and 1 bottle.

Toasted? You mean "on fire" skull? I noticed that you were the first Div 3 finisher in your first Div3 race. Well done.skull wrote:I finished up over 150km in 5 hours flat. Legs were a little bit toasted at Sundays race.
