Guys nice to see you advertise in a mtb magazine, but there's nothing in the Mtb department , wheres the 2012 X9, XO, XX gear? been checking since website was online. 26 pages on BNA and yet to have anything to price match, if your not carrying high end mtb gear, man up and admit you cant price match it, or dont advertise that you can.Don't forget that the dirt gave you 2 piece cranks, threadless headsets, tubeless wheels, disc brakes for CX, and SRAM.

I also don't like how they advertise bikes on bikeexchange.com.au but when you contact them they're totally out of stock of that type of bike and cannot give an ETA on new stock.

I got a price match on a chain from c r c, but then I discovered that ribble had a KMC chain for the same price and was like mmmm BUY. Chain was $30 dearer (AT) c r c and cyclingexpress doesn't carry KMC.

Mind you I'm going to be buying some disk brakes. 2012 Avid Elixir 7's hyrdo's. Now cyclingexpress carry Avid Elixir 7's BUT there is no description except a brief line on the product itself stating disc size, tubing length. How can one expect to buy if they don't know the details. Also they don't have the front brake  Avid redisgned the Elixir lines after bleeding issues so I don't want anything prior to the 2012 model.

bike24 only has the 2011 models, not the later model for the Elixir 7's. I've looked and was about to purchase a rear one to fix up my bacchetta's braking system, but I fixed it using some Nokon cable housing I had around, so I've put it off for a few months now until the pads either wear out or I find I need more braking.

Yes, but they had 80 euro Mavic 823 rims,I was quoted 240 by a few places in perth
.5 euro DT Swiss Spokes and nipples etc cheaper than c r c
asked them about 2012 brakes, yet to get them they said, communication is good
Good shipping and tracking

I've only bought two things in two seperate transactions from CE and have had troublefree dealings with them. Bought a tubular tre that was quite cheap, not one that is carried by any of the major UK shops, I received order confimation email and then shipped email and tyre arrived less than a week later exactly as described. Same with a wheerlset I ordered. About $25 cheaper already than any of the UK majors so I didn't have to ask for a price match. Got the order and shipping emails and wheels arrived yesterday, less than a week after ordering. I've asked for a price match on an item previously and got an email reply within the hour, very happy with that. Didn't end up ordering from them because I already had an order going with a UK shop for some parts CE didn't stock so it was easier just to add the part to that order.

I think some people are a bit harsh expecting CE to stock every part for every bike. If they haven't got the part you want then you have a coyuple of options. Email/ring them and ask if perhaps they do stock it/can get it because you couldn't see it on their website or simply buy it somewhere else. Carrying on like a pork chop about it isn't going to solve the problem.

+1

My dealings have been the same as yours Ross.

Have probably ordered off them 6 times now (including a new bike) , and had one minor problem(missing item).
On ringing them they apologised and sent the missing item straight away.

Have had the same problem with overseas companies , and it has been painful and drawn out to get fixed.

As Ross said you can't expect them to have everything for every-one in stock.

They have only had their website up for less than a year now , give them a chance.

How long have c r c , Wiggle , Evan cycles been running for???

I remember (vaguely) ordering stuff from c r c online , nearly 15 years ago.

So let them get on their feet a bit more and test out the online market , as to what to keep in stock , to keep MOST people happy.

Scott.

June to January is long enough to sort your website

Example
http://www.cyclingexpress.com/cycling/c ... s-mtb.aspx

6 pairs of wheelsets, not a single pair of Mavics in sight,
yet mavic wheelsets for sale available in road components.
Thats selective sales from CE and Groupe Sportif
I wonder who has a financial interest in this business? GS?

Maybe there is a supply issue with Mavic wheels? I know I've been wanting to buy some Open Pro rims and c r c didn't have any in stock for several months.

<Mod says: This bit removed... explaination from AuBicycles below>

On another note, I have price matched over 500 products in the past six months and can show this to anyone if they'd like, this includes every legitimate price match request that has 'met the rules'. If the price match has not been accepted I have explained why it has not (ie: the supplier no longer has stock or the item is different to the one we sell). I am usually able to complete a request within 24 hours also so you shouldn't have to wait too long!

Cheers,
Sam (AT) CE

Who says CE buy from those wholesalers anyway? I really don't understand your beef with CE. There are numerous road cycling parts that I require from time to time, I have a look on their website and if it's not listed I just buy it somewhere else, it's really not a big deal. I think CE is going above and beyond the call of duty by posting here on a Sunday anyuway. I'm sure Sam has other stuff he would prefer to be doing like riding his bike perhaps.

Explanation: I have removed a post and done an edit, this is not a secret however before there is a backlash I will explain.

There are enough posts remaining here that show there has been strong criticism of CE by a dissatisfied member . Fair critism is fine however this issue was escalated for the sake of the argument and it has become counter productive and is simply not adding value.

Not sure if the CE crew read these comments or not, but perhaps you can do something to improve your deliveries? I've had to wait over a week for delivery and i know of a couple of friends of mine that had their deliveries sent to wrong addresses & took longer than a week. Understand that you cannot control the courier drivers but you can control which courier you use!
Otherwise been more than happy with the pricing and availability, good to have an Australian alternative... keep up the good work!!

Yep - I've bought a few items off CE, pretty happy with them. I prefer to keep SOME of my $Au. in the country.
I ride, therefore I am. But don't ride into harm's way.

I only heard about CE through the forum and have now recommended to all cycling friends.

First purchase was a Wiggle price match and it was a painless experience.

Second was a track pump which was cheaper than the usual online stores by default and CE actually had stock where others didn't.

Now today I've taken the plunge on what I feel is a super deal on a CycleOps Fluid 2 trainer (see post in 'Spotted a special' thread).

All in all, evey time I've checked CE they have come up trumps when I'm ready to throw the money down. Have also had the pleasure of dealing with their phone customer service which was great.

My only problem with the price match is that its based on a single item purchase in the form of a discount code.

When they approved my price match they actually changed the price of the item on the website for 48 hours (I think it was for that long - can't remember exactly).

Then it was a case of take it or leave it but anybody could also have picked it up for that price if they saw it.

This was in September last year so perhaps they changed the process?
