Setup difference for RR and Crit?

Postby twizzle » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:22 pm

Just wondering if people run different fit for RR & Crits? I've just setup my 'other' bike for a TT tomorrow, and it got me thinking about the differences between road races and Crits, where in a Crit the ability to hold a more TT-like position could be quite an advantage for breaks but would be too tiring for a road race. My usual RR setback is ~10.5cm, but for the clip-on aero-bars it's ~7cm.
I ride, therefore I am.

7.9cm nose behind bb for road or crit... can't find a crit under 50kms long here. I would be bothering changing from what I train on.
Maybe I would run a shorter crank given the choice...thats about it.

OK, but my Crits are ~25 - 30 minutes.

25 - 30 minutes! Hope they don't charge much of an entry fee. You'd be spending more time warming up than actually racing!

Meh, it's $3, and it's pretty fast & furious (39kph+ average). When the days are longer we get 35 +2, but the days are getting shorter yet again.
