I haven't really tried to make it light, but then the components I've used aren't exactly heavy either. 6.5kg for Ti with an integrated seatpost is pretty bloody good though.

The Mad Fibers belong on another bike, but that's not built yet...

She had pretty good english and was helpful and responsive. Frame came in about a week from when I ordered it, there's not a whole lot of info up on their frames (just some basic geometry etc) so I had to trawl through some forums and ask questions about a few things. I opted to buy their headset at the same time, it feels fine and has lasted so far no problems and at least by buying theirs I could be pretty confident that it would fit the frame (it was also pretty cheap ).

Mine weighs 6.98kg (size 58) according to my scale with a SMP Composit saddle, Speedplay Zero's and 1100g wheels (no spare anything)

There would be a fair amount of error in my scales, to be sure. I'm using standard bathroom scales and could easily be out by 500g. But I would have expected yours to be lighter than 6.98?

I too have an FM028 and I got a rude surprise the other day when I weighed it accurately (I think).
I bought one of those cheap as chips luggage scales on ebay. I haven't checked the calibration but I suspect it is correct when it tells me my bare bike weighs 7.17 kg. I was under the delusion that it was ~7.07. I did that weight weenie thing of listing all the bits with their weights on a spread sheet and that's what it told me.

Mine has fairly standard parts that were chosen with an eye to cost and weight, just a few trivial ww bits - the QRs, seat clamp and bar tape. The heavy things are the wheels - Fulcrum R3 2 way fit at 1580 g plus Hutchie Intensive tyres and sealant at 690 g. The good news is I can get it below 6.8 by just attending to the wheels and tyres and it doesn't have to be expensive. The Fulcrums are pretty good though. I just wont use them for hilly rides.

Nice looking bike you have there. I think nude suits that frame but there are a few impressive paint schemes on RBR, a few horrors too. I think you can afford to indulge your personal proclivities with these bikes and paint them any way that makes you feel good. I wont be painting mine cause I'm cheap but I may get around to sticking some vinyl on it if only to announce that it is indeed an FM028. I'll have a mess around in Photoshop when I can be arsed.

Thanks. For the money it is about the best bang for buck I can imagine. But I was pretty lucky with my ebay and other internet purchases, and I don't think you could get it for this price any day of the week. A mate of mine is building one of these frames up now and he bought all his parts of Ribble in one go (Athena-11, Fulcrum 5 wheels and some lower end parts), the total price was around $1700.

Heres my Scott Foil 20, straight out of the box i think they weigh around 7.3kg, the wheels feel like the heaviest thing on it, and im tempted to go the Zipp 404/808 combination at a later date.
ive only had the bike for a couple weeks but im loving it so far, nice and firm/stiff.
the other bike is my old faithful Schwinn cruiser, had it for years and still love to take it out when i want a more relaxing ride. going from the Scott to the Schwinn is weird tho, the Schwinn weighs a friggen ton!

Supersonic's are very fast but they don't last very long. On average I only get around 1500kms out of them until i get problems. Mostly punctures on the rear wheel as it wears faster. I've used 3 pairs and the 4th is on the garage shelf for special occasions.
It may have something to do with the thin Maxxis featherweight tubes i use with them or the roads I roll on.

I'm currently using Schwalbe Ultremo ZX, only had them for 500kms so time will tell if they're any better. They're 25ish grams heavier so hopefully they last longer. I did 150kms on them in 35 degree heat and now the white Schwalbe labelling on the side wall looks burnt and discoloured.

To be honest I don't race so I can't tell/feel how supple, sticky, faster, low rolling resistance, puncture proof or lighter each tyre brand is.
I generally go by how sex they look on my bike

I do really like the Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX in the wet because of it's "file" tread pattern. Shame they're 218grams (my scales).
I'll probably go back to them.

My Foil 15, web site says 7.2 kg's, I've changed the bars and stem to Deda zero 100. I didn't like the large Cosmic stickers on the wheels so I removed them. Went for a 5 hour ride today, climbed 2000 vertical meters and I still love the bike. I'm going for the Strava climbing challenge, it was a good idea at first.
