They told me I could effectively rock up on the day, but it's best to pre-register.

Sorry to disappoint Rob but here is how i did it.RobRollin wrote:Is it a 1 piece titanium cassette Doggga? Disappointed if its not LOL
Ground the head off the metal plugs holding my 9 speed(yes 9 speed) mtn bike cassette together
Extracted the 30t sprocket
Slotted the 9 speed 30t sprocket onto the free hub cassette spindle
Fitted some spacers using the trial and error method to get the spacing close enough I had various width spaces lying around.
Fitted the remainder of the 10 speed 27-12 cassette, omitting the 15.
All working with a standard Dura Ace 7900 derailuer.

You complain when its too hot (Sundays Summer Survival) and now when it's a little rainy. You should be just focusing on loctiting your seat bolt(s)BarryTas wrote:i am not liking the weather report

TRUE, so how many KOMs are you holding ATM Dogga?

On the other hand, I admire those prepared to have a go at bicycle mechanics, rather than running to the lbs with every little rattle.
Best wishes.

Master6, the idea behind the 30 is so that i dont have to get out of the saddle The only other time I have ridden to the summit was on a 27, even then I was grinding at 60-70rpm, the 30 should allow me to "spin" at least 80.
Barry, I hope so! In fact I had better do some research, don't want to jeopardise my record attempt.

I only recognised it was you just before you started. Thought I'd catch up afterwards and you were gooonnne.BarryTas wrote:i love living so close to the Mt, i was home, showered and drinking coffee before most riders had got back to their cars hehehe
I hung around, coz the family came down to see me.
It was a good day.
For all those who chickened out: the weather wasn't that bad! Sure, I couldn't see much once I hit the tree line
If I didn't pack a jumper and raincoat in the musette, I might be singing a different tune though.

Would be nice if it was in order of finish time, not race number though.
