Ideal Tires for Avanti Ventura

Postby Krank » Sat Feb 25, 2012 12:04 am

I have just bought this bike dirt cheap and both tires need replacing.

I read elsewhere that Maxxis Minion tires are really good quality tires. Why is this so?

Can these tires fit on this bike?

Would they suit this bike?

If not, what other tires would suit this bike?

Bike will be used by my 13 yo girl as a short daily commute to school and weekend riding in the bush around Kakadu NP.

She will not be a hardcore thrasher and in a place with lots of rocky descents.

I know nothing about the bike Krank but I'm guessing it's a 24" wheel?

At a guess, I'd say just about any tyre of 1.9" width should do the trick.

thanks.

i fitted a new 26" Maxxis Crossmark 2.1" on rear and new 26" Maxxis Ignitor 2.35" on front - both new tubes.

So, these tires are now worth more than the bike :-)

FWIW at this late stage, good choice even if the tyres are worth more than the bike. In my view they actually make more difference to a safe and enjoyable riding than anything except correct frame sizing.
