Even during those 15 minutes some missed out as the credit card charging system was playing up.

I was intending to apply while I was on the train but I forgot my iphone cable and couldn't do the internet on the train, but fortunately I reached work at 9.05am, just in time.

Nope it was 13min according to the people I rang at Cycling NSW. My meeting finished at 0940, so I was way out of luck.

Back from the specalist. Getting it plated is now optional

So basically I have two options and both are wrong

Either way I'm looking at another 4 weeks

After fully reviewing it I definitely need it to be plated. Seeing another specialist on Monday, with the viewpoint of getting it done on Tuesday

Collarbone plated yesterday, it included a bone graft.

4 hours sleep, had a morphine injection at 4am, but it didn't help me get back to sleep. Trying breakfast TV now

When I had my collarbone plated (about 14 months ago?), the nurse warned me when I was on the post-op morphine NOT to eat anything.

"You'll be sorry" she said. "Trust me - everyone throws up..."

Of course, I ate something. And guess what happened..... She came in to help me and said, "You boys - you never believe a nurse who's seen it a hundred times before..."

Best of luck with the recovery Mike. I know how hard it is - but do the right thing and its all good (eventually!).... :)

Cheers,
Abby

Sorry Mike, it looks like you bought a pet lizard. We need better quality than that.

Tour de Mike

The classes are going fine, I've added bike commuting on a borrowed flat bar bike and will probably migrate to my fixie next week, assuming my test on Sunday goes ok - 80 on the race bike, to test the shoulder out.

Legs are a bit dead, presumably an indicator that my fitness has taken a small hit. Suspect they will bounce back pretty quick. Thinking about doing the 170 at blaney to Bathurst for a fitness assessment

Another milestone, did my first training ride, the clubs Sunday ride. It was also my first ride on a race bike. Conclusion, a little soreness in the shoulder, but not an issue. Legs despite being rooted prior provided good power. A noticeable drop in cardio fitness which I expect to bounce back pretty quick.

Can't be anything but very happy with that result

I've entered Blaney to Bathurst (B2B) cycle sport-if on the 22nd, the new 170k route. To act as a fitness test. In 2009 I broke 5 ribs and punctured a lung, the 110k B2B was my returning fitness test, so I'll use the new 170k route for this year as my comparative. I've put myself in the 35-40kph group
