I just had a look at a brand new one, can't see any indicators. Neither is there on my GatorHardshell.
The GP4000S has the wear indicators, 2 small holes on the main part of the rubber that is in contact with the road.

Just to beat Drubie to the punch, my Gatorskins didn't last long enough for a wear indicator to actually matter.

Just spent two hours peeling and wiping glue off my tubular rims. Still slightly high from the acetone. Another tubular bites the dust.
