+1, loads of fun and not pushing myself to max effort as I always find myself doing solo .KillerHeadWind wrote:The first forum ride was a nice little trek from Rooty Hill down to Maccas at Prestons and back. There were 7 of us and apart from some glorious smoke floating around, it was a beautiful day to be out there riding. It was an enjoyable ride, the pace was very easy and a top bunch of blokes.
Here's to the next ride.
Good to see a professional tube change too.
A special thanks to MikeG for having a ludicrous amount of gear strapped to himself or his bike (including lots of tools), and his tweaking of my FD to stop the chain coming off the large chainring. Great work mate!!

It was a real professional tube change. Tools scattered everywhere as I threw them in a fit of rage, sitting down in the scrub, ..............Boognoss wrote: +1, loads of fun and not pushing myself to max effort as I always find myself doing solo .

Best average of 19.8 since June last year of 20.8
Was experiencing some minor cramping in the legs in the last 5 kms or so.
Took the Church st turn off from the M7 path, and virtually ran out of go.
I'll have to do the same ride, but on the shoulder to compare.

You never have to apologise. It was an enjoyable day and it is always good to add the social aspect to riding, which is what today was all about.mikeg wrote:Good ride, my apologies for slowing everyone down, The group rides on the road are just going to be too fast for me, unless there are others in the same class.

The shoulder is a much better ride in my opinion and I usually always ride it, except for today that is

I especially liked the killer tube change, i didnt believe it was possible to get a flat on a smooth surface with no debries in sight, but i have now seen it first hand.
Look forward to the next one

Healing very well thanks, considering, the nurses changing my dressings have been surprised how well it's going at least. Most of my road rash no longer needs to be covered in sealed dressings though the big deep hole in my right elbow will need to be treated for some time to come. I'm still in a fair bit of pain as the affected areas are very sensitive and the new skin is very taut and delicate which is restricting my movement and adding to the pain. Will be a little while until I can ride again, which is extra frustrating as I've just got a new bike!toolonglegs wrote:How are your injuries doing Hotdog?.I saw some serious butt rash appear 3 wheels in front of me today. We were hammering into a sharp right hander and about 40 when the guys rear tyre blew big time....went down very hard in some donut action!.

Hi Kev,Kev365428 wrote:OK,
For the last few weeks/months I’ve been thinking about organising a group ride, or regular group ride for forum members based in Sydney.
Kev.
I've been mountain biking for a long time and have recently gotten hold of a road bike which I've been riding into the ground all through summer. I regularly hookup to the M7 to start my rides.
I'm located at Cecil Hills and have probably rode past you guys a few times.
Let me know if anyone wants to hookup for a quick blat. I'm usually roady-ing early on Sunday mornings and a few days during the week.
