I think the bars came off a SE Lager, got them all together with the tape, brake levers and brake lines. Position was fine like riding on the hoods of STI levers so they stayed.

Custom built Australian made frame "Builder?" Just got the old stock Suntour brake cables on and called it finished.

Thanks mate, With the one short ride I've had it rides really nice as good as a new bike. I went for a 1980 style build but cheated slightly, in the pic my 1990 Ricardo wheels are on.
I have a nice period correct Record hub Ambrosio tubular wheel set that were for this bike but might save the tyres for another wheel set. Also the fading on the stays is a little green from putting yellow over black. This was only my second try at painting "first with enamel" and recently bought a much better spray gun.
I,m going to leave it awhile and may try a metallic color possibly bronze all over. I do like the black fork though.

Thanks, Believe it or not all the main components are used and some detail parts are new like the hoods, seat, tyres and bar tape. The bar end plugs and brake cables are NOS. I got yellow plugs because I wanted glossy tape used on old race bikes in gold color but couldn't find any the tape on it is Fizik found on flebay and it looks pretty good on period builds.

dillonp answered it and there available though Velomine on the bay there not cheap but one of the best tyre's around.
The wheels look quite good hubs are Suntour Sprint, rims are Mavic open 4CD's. I've seen a 1980 Grandis on the net all original with rims the same color, possibly the best looking vintage bike I've ever seen that's why I decided to go with these wheels.

I don't really have a before pic but I feathered out all the scratches & chips on my steel 853 frame, painted over them and now starting my free hand painting...

Wingnut, what are you using to paint that? Brush and enamel?

Here is a frame I collected several years ago, complete apart from wheels, pedals and chain.
No before pictures of the frame and components.
Had a bit of trouble with the 16mm Zeus crank bolt.
Eventually found and bought a 16mm socket that was then turned on a lathe to fit the crank.

Unknown frame builder but a quality piece with "spear " lugs and Campagnolo ends. Very light.
Cinelli bars ( have 65 stamped on the lower edge-- indicates year of manufacture?) and stem, all Zeus drive train, Weinnman brakes
and my input: Campagnolo hubs on Mavic Monthlery Pro singles, and Zeus pedals.

A bit rough in spots but in very good condition overall.
Needs bar tape of the correct type and a couple of caps

Whats the seat post diameter? this can sometimes hint towards a particular type of tubing used.

Thanks for that reminder of the Cinelli 65 model.
I do have later Cinelli bars with 65 near the stem junction.

Seat post size is 26.4.

awesome, im glad you didnt re-do the paintwork around the lugs, unless one has an incredibly steady hand and eye, it can be quite messy looking, and turn a nice paint job into an average one. im sure you must be very pleased with the end result.
