Postby JB » Tue Mar 06, 2012 1:18 pm

what combination of rear cog and chain ring does the best for a 5.5 metre rollout (U13)? (I need to place an order for sons Track bike).

cheers, :)

Think 49x19 is close.

A great training gear for men and boys. :)

Since learnt that for a 5.5 roll-out Cycling Australia specifies sprocket 18 and Chain Ring 45

Many Clubs quote 42x16 for their U13 rollout (>5.5)

they risk getting caught when roll-outs are checked at race time...not worth it.

Nothing worse for your little one than to have their moment of glory taken away from them!

Nothing worse than taking the little man out, and not being able to give him a run. :)

And it's even worse when your son can't race (boom, tish) :D

I was going to go with - "That's what she said", but think it's a bit overused.

with 700c x 23 rear wheel,
or height of wheel at 674mm
49 x 19 = 5.46m
45 x 18 = 5.29m
42 x 16 = 5.55m
44 x 17 = 5.48m
