Hi all,
As the owner of a disc equipped bike, and having run A23 rims before, is there any such beast as a deepish carbon clincher (with or without brake tracks) rim that is also wide ?
Looking at 35 - 50mm deep.
Needs to be available as a rim only.
Anyone know of such an item ?
Keen to try something different for my next wheel build

Aren't Zipp 303 or 404 rims quite wide? Certainly the most expensive option

yishun
farsports
helin liu
from here
Apparently some of these mobs will drill the rims to your specifications. There is a bloke here in Bendigo who has some 60mm carbon cinchers he got custom built by a local wheel builder. The rear is a 32 hole with external nipples laced to a power tap hub. I don't know him well having only been here a short time but he has had them since novemeber he was saying on saturday and races and trains on them. He looked to be a 100ish kg to me.
Oops just reread your post . Dont know that any of them are that wide.

Thanks for the info Parrott
Will have a browse.
I'm thinking that what I am ideally after is not available, but will have a sticky beak to see what is around

The China carbon rims are mostly about 19mm along with the likes of gigantex, wish I previously knew they could redrill to your request tho. 38mm redrilled to 32h with some disc hubs would be sweet on the commuter

38mm deep carbon Clincher from the Helin Lu link provided by Parrott are listed as 760g (+/- 30g) per pair !! Betrter than I thought and not far off the Stans Alpha 340's that I was thinking of using.
the 50mm ones are 880g (+/- 30g) from Helin.
Farsports seem to be wheelsets only EDIT : Doh !! Just found the clincher rim listing ..... , and Yishun have virtually no details by each product.
Investigations will continue ....
Any other experiences/links greatly welcomed

Probably a bit wide. Deeper would be nicer, but it seems like they are in the works - see below ....Crawf wrote:Too fat, too short?
From the thread on RBR, here is some interesting news posted last week
Could be promising ....Originally Posted by mattsavage
I stand corrected... Bevato just sent me their new catalog. They have a cyclocross line of clinchers and tubulars that are 23.5mm and 25mm wide. the tubulars are 30mm x 25mm, 45mm x 25mm, and 55mmx 25mm.
The clinchers are 45mm x 23.5mm and 45mm x 25mm. They also have an 88mm x25mm clincher. They are all UD finish. Time to swoop!
The thing about Bevato though, is they're a wholesaler. I don't think they do individual orders. Might be good for a group buy though.

From the previously mentioned RBR forum
50mm is a bit deep for me, but will see what happens in the next month or so. 38mm is plenty for me, wide or not.
Standby to standby
It seems that at this stage, only 50mm deep wide (tubular and clincher) will be available from Yishun. See profile below.Originally Posted by indrek
Had another discussion with them and yes only 50T available at the moment. Rims cost 25 more per pair (weight should be the same). They don't have a date yet for other models, but they think they will only make wide versions of 50mm tubular and clincher, because new molds are too expensive
Great. Thanks for the feedback.
Any idea of when the 50mm deep wide clincher will be available ?
