group rides on the gold coast

Yesterday I did my first group ride, but it was up in Toowoomba so not really practical for a weekly trip.

So I was wondering if anyone knows of any that I can join in with, I asked at my LBS but they don't run any. looking for around 50km plus, I normally average around 27 kph solo but i was easily doing 30kph yesterday in the group.

Where on the coast do you live?
Bikeforce oxenford & in2cycles@ robina do rides. There's groups that go from Spotlight (AT) ashmore most days. Wed + Friday are easer.

Tuesday and Thurs 0530 burleigh beach carpark ..... never done it but apparently a good group.
Saturday 0600 in 2 cycles (AT) robina fast and slower group.

In2Cycles Fast group now goes at 5.30am - Check their facebook page for fast group details (flat rides up aroud 38km/hr average).
Slow group does same loop every week; approx 50km return run to Kirra & back

Yeh I was up for a family thing so the ride was just a bonus as a friend from Gatton draged me out., I lived up there for years (infact currently trying to sell our house at greenmount)

Any midweek bunch rides from up around Southport - Runaway Bay. Going up on Sunday for a week and would love to get out on some.

If you use Facebook, search for the group "Gold Coast Cycling Combine". All the major clubs are members, and they often post about the many group rides happening on the Goldie...

In2cyclers shop ride is IMHO the best bunch ride on the coast, super friendly shop guys run the ride and nobody gets left behind. There is also the fast ride that leave early and its hold on for as long as you can, but regroup every so often.

Team Random run social bunch rides leaving from Gloria Jeans robina town centre mondays and fridays @5:15 and train every day in between. Feel free to rock up for a social ride and maybe even get invited to join after getting to know the guys, a great group.
