Just dusty....when they show promos of the race it is usually the riders caked in mud. Now it is the opposite.

Eat dust says Boonen.

I don't think Sky could catch Tom even if they had Wiggins there.

The SBS subtitler needs to be taken out and shot.

Poor form. Fine for the ilk of Channel 7 but not for SBS. Lift up the standards please.

Tornado Tom takes out the 3 cobble classics. What a machine! Great race.

Awesome to see Lars Boom in there too. Half expected him to jump the fence and shortcut across a field to catch Tommy.

Boonen incredible!! Hats off.

Wouldn't call what Sky were doing smart, leave Stannard on the front until he pops then the same with Hayman. Why wouldn't the 4 of them swap off? Rabobank wouldn't commit one of the two guys they had to help, disappointing.

Great ride by Hayman to finish 8th after all the work he did for the team. He is one strong hombre.

I think Cycling Central website has a vid highlights package.

Boonen monstered it, smashed the chasing groups. Those cobbles puts each rider out there on their own, no point in finding a wheel to suck, no lead out man to pull you along, it's all about how much of the hammer you can take.

Cant believe Boonen did that. He would of beat all of the top 10 probably easily in a sprint but out of pride he rides off the front like a boss. Impressive and I did not see it coming.

I thought Chavanel looked strong before he punctured. He and Hayman would be good recruits for GE if they want to do better in the cobbled classics next year.

Agree Chavenel was looking strong. Was disappointed that Sky didn't get organised & do a better chase. Still Tom was the class act of the day, great when they just back themselves!

Fantastic effort from Tom, has anyone on the forum ridden on some of these cobble roads?
If so please share.

Not personally... but if anyone is interested, ASO (TDF and every other big race owner) runs a cyclosportive on the Saturday over the P-R route... should be fun  .

Edit... looks like it was last Sunday http://www.parisroubaixchallenge.com/us/homepage.html

Looking at a lot of the pix around today not many were running old school rims/wheels anymore... the move to carbon 35-50mm is nearly totally complete.

Thanks toolonglegs,
Not for me just wanted a idea of bounce and control problems they go through. Considering frames and alike can collapse.
I keep replaying Hell of North and cant believe the arm vibrations . One amazing race.

Would have been good to see Fabien ride through the cobbles on the new Trek... looked like it has a hell of a lot of vertical compliance!.
Laughed at Cannondale with the disc equiped bike on the team car  .
