Rough Stuff Fellowship

Postby il padrone » Tue Apr 10, 2012 9:43 am

The South Lakes Group of the UK Rough Stuff Fellowship (sorta touring come MTB) posts regular photo sets of their rides here. They are always marvellously attractive views of the lakes and moors of Yorkshire. Amazing to see such delectable culinary attractions mixed in with the off-road riding

Nice shots. That is the area where the famous 3 peaks cyclo cross race goes through. Re the cakes depicted that is a part of very long standing British tradition of the cafe run.

Well, I can relate to that. Our club, Melbourne Bicycle Touring Club (MBTC) has a standing joke that the initials actually stand for 'More Bakeries Than Cycling'

I reckon I'd probably break my nose too, trying to ride a drop-bar with no suspension on that path  ;)

Probably one of the old timers, trailgumby.

These blokes were riding in those areas on touring bikes many years before mountain bikes were invented!
