How long is your daily commute and where does it start/end?

Some days I'll hit up training in SOP, or go to work via Bondi for hills.

The biggest commute I ever heard of was a former National level rider, who was going from the Southern Highlands to western Sydney, return trip, about 240 km per day. He didn't do it every day, but he did it regularly.

that's pretty big.
I used to do 55km each way (110km day) twice a week but I've been particularly lazy lately...

I'm looking for options to lengthen the route with hill repeats etc, have managed to get it up to 25km with soem hill repeats.
Don't ride every day, I need to leave some in the tank for longer weekend training rides.

I have now decided the round trip in winter will be just under 36KM, in summer I do about 37.5KM. Different route as I use more of the bike path in winter when it is dark. I could do it in 25KM but take a longer route, this serves me well if I'm running late as I can just go direct instead.

However I do keep it all on the trip meter which tells me that from start of year to this morning I have done 2,079km.
So, for this year, a very satisfying 20km a day seven days a week I usually do not do much or any on Saturday so maybe 23.5km a riding day.
I continue riding every work day without fail all year come rain or shine though the distances will come down a fair bit for about five months of winter.

The trick is to book a trip on the indian pacific and then ride up and down the aisle for an hour or two. You get to cover several hundred kms at an average speed of, say, 100kph! Take some rollers and do the whole distance and then you can say you rode to Adelaide or Kalgoorlie or whatever.greeny23 wrote:me and my singlespeed have only done 270km..ColinOldnCranky wrote:It varies as I drop and add extra train legs and do a fair bit of wandering as the mood takes me.

Hoping to do four days a week, but I think I need a different seat, I'm pretty 198cm tall and solidly built, so the narrow seat isn't doing me any favours.
