In the dark tonight, Ambulence having hard time to find them without known crossroad (Tresise Street and Guinevere Way). They were at Carine Open Space west side and making right way after I left not required. Best wishes for riders' recovery.

Cold reminder how a hairy intersection in good weather and vision of daylight can bite quickly with poorer vision at night.

OT: By poorer vision I also mean tonight's reminder the non-dipping disorentation dazzle of MTB offroad design lithium powered LED lights very affordable now continuing this http://lightmare.org/
I've only found this German spec reflector LED so far to address it...

...but would mean getting everyone else to use it too, and still dip/twist/dim etc. the spotlight or helmet light...

Not good news, hate that corner as there are no lights on that no name park (it is not carine open space). Do you have more details as I went through around 6:30pm.

It was probably about 6:45pm. GPS said ~6:53pm I was at the intersection. It also said I was doing 40kph top speed down the hill before it, easing to 38kph last two thirds before getting on the brakes before the tree cover. I had taken it very easy around lots of joggers/walkers of an organised group in the prior section before Reid Hwy.
Reminder to self to take it easier around all the intersections.

There were a couple of hash house runs on tonight based on the number of chalk markings I saw on the way home.

For example
Run No: 520
Date: 16/04/12
Hare: Mankini
Location: Monyash Reserve, Carine
Directions: North on Mitchell, left on Reid Hwy, 1st right on Duffy Rd, near the end, turn into carpark on south side of the club rooms.
 
Always slow down for that corner as it is a dog leg.

I heard them calling "hash bike" and first impression was it resembled something of a mature men's poker club that dared itself to go for a half marathon run to pay a debt... but I wasn't about to jump to any conclusions. I didn't see them right near the bike incident dogleg though so won't assume they caused it. A mobile poker strike of hash runners. Sounds like a night in Amsterdam.

PS: I noticed the fencing going up along the path closer to Warwick Station from the dogleg with cheese grater edge is at ~1.8m normal house fence height versus the Karrinyup Rd. section.
They also didn't leave the concrete based poles at side of path for 2 weeks either and path with sections of sand to washout at fastest point at valley of the hill like Karrinyup has now.

Wasn't indicating either that the HHH was the cause of the accident, just that you had mentioned there was a group run in the area.

However, it doesn't help when they put up arrows on the incorrect side of the path, as well as a turn point. Below images captured last night near Powis St.

Yeah no complaints about them, generally seemed to all be well lit, light coloured clothing, and called down the line of bike approaching. Until now I never heard of them nor noticed the chalk markings. Like colony boats on the horizon to my native eyes =P

+ 1 Have been forced into the dirt when heading south by a couple of northbound cyclists who felt riding at speed and cutting the corner there was smart

Came across this on the ride in this morning, exactly at the location of the accident:


Didn't notice it on the way home last night, but then again it was dark, there are no lights in the area, and I was riding on the side which was clear.

Cleaned it up as best as I could, and reported the area/issue to the City of Stirling. The first photo you can see that dog-leg of a bend, and the main PSP continues to the left, not the one going straight on.

Whist speaking about this area, still waiting for the direction sign to be corrected, reported by NeatStreets Jan-2012.
