Cycle chic, guys. Not Cycle chicks. There is a pretty big difference - sorta like the difference between John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever and John C. Holmes in Saturday Night Beaver

No wowser at all. Just attempting to keep the thread a bit on-topic, something that it has done mostly for 59 of the past 60 pages, but has been losing it just a bit.

Nice set of Ay Ups. :D

And if you've ever wondered about the derivation of Ay Up,
from their website

"AY UP! Wots it mean?
Ay up! or Ee Up! by the way, is an all purpose Lancashire / Yorkshire word that means Hello, How are you, Whassup, G'day, Crikey, What are you up to, Look at this, Oy!, Gerroff, See that?, Are you listening? Watch out, Where you been, Pay attention, Wake up...and have a go at these bright little lights!"

It certainly looks like it, but then with the huge amount of trail on the front from handle bar to wheel insertion on the fork it is probably needed.

Looks like it.

I picked up an old Dawes mountain bike from the tip shop a while ago and fitted it with a Gamoh front rack jobby, the big one that they do (it's planned for another bike, but I haven't worked out which one yet).

Anyway, I fitted one of these dampers to it which I picked up from Velo Orange, mainly to test it out, and it works really well. You can notice it a bit when you're riding, but it's certainly not a bad feeling. At the tension I have it, with a 6-pack in an esky with ice, the front would still flop over if the wheel was raised on a kickstand, but with that amount of weight on the front, the front wheel is grounded and the wheel is stabilized.

It's a bit ugly though. It suits the all-black bike in this picture, but it would look pretty incongruous on my wife's blue and chrome number...

It looks to me like the linkage for the front hub brake.
