TCR Advanced 0 (2012)TCR Advanced 0 (2012)Anyone here got one?
I think I've only seen one out on the road so far and the prices keep on falling, so my guess is they are not selling. Some stores prices are pretty comparable to Azzurri. Its not the best looking bike in the world but is there any other reasons why?
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
I would have bought one, but the colour scheme is just horrible
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)giant have been discounting bikes a lot recently, not just specific models.
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)Ended up getting one. For $2800, it was tough to turn down at that price. I think a pre-ordered Azzurri is only $100 cheaper or to buy one in stock is $3000. The colour has grown on me, I dont mind the silver but the blue parts were the bit to get over. I was a di2 skeptic
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)Got mine at the beginning of April. Better than the Azzurri Di2, why? I got a refund from CE and bought this bike! Damn $2800 is so cheap! Cheapest in Sydney is $3499

Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
How/where did you get it at that price? I was led to believe there was a Giant Dealer discount promotion coming soon but not that low! It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)I could probably live with the horrible paint scheme at that price.

Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
My sentiments exactly... I was never a fan of green, but I find that the colour scheme of the $100 note looks good with anything I wear...
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
There was a factory backed deal before Easter on most Giant bikes which got me interested but the best price in Melb. then was around $3200. The LBS down the road from me then dropped it to $3k the week before Easter so out of curiousity I was flicking through BikeExchange and came across Lawrencia Cycles in Hawthorn had them advertised at $2800. The owner sold me it so quizzed him what was with the price but it wasnt until after I paid up he told me it was only in response to the other stores price. With the amount of stores now selling Giant bikes its probably worth people printing out the cheapest ad they can find and asking for a price match or better.
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)If I'm reading this right it could be had for $2700 with the flash of a membership card.

Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
I suspect that will exclude bikes. Cheapest I could find was that one Nunawading too. $2,999 is pretty good but $2,800 is obviously better but sadly I can't find anything near those prices in NSW. Lot's of them now doing the dealer discount price of $3,300 but I think $2,999 (or less) could make me break out the credit card.... (AT) skull; Yes these are the Ultegra Di2 version. Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)mate of mine just paid 2700 for this bike as well at Lawrencia
ONline they had the bike listed at this price then in store it was 3300, but they did it for 2700 very very good value i reckon considering retail was 4000 Do as the Romans do!
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)Wonder what it is with Victorian Giant dealers and their ultra-low prices?
I presume they have to be making some level of profit from the sale unless they were bikes they'd ordered in for floor stock based on the pre-release hype then got stuck with them once potential buyers saw the paint job? It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)If anyone is able to achieve sub $3K pricing in Sydney, please feel free to post (brag) about it...
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)It'll have to be a small dealer with long-term floor stock to shift in your specific size or a large dealer with enough buying power via the importer to do a deal given the Factory Approved discounts only apply to sales of 5 units or more...

Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)drive down to vic and ride it back
i think my mate was pretty lucky to still get his for that price giant really went out trying to drive a massive wedge between the tcr and tcr sl range with the paint I reckon the sl's look unreal but as for the tcr's i think its very bland Do as the Romans do!
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
Definitely was! The cheap ads have gone and cheapest I can now find on BE is $3K for specific sizes (likely floor stock).
I think they just plain got it wrong with the silver/blue paint (unintentionally) and it killed their sales stone dead. The SL 0 is gorgeous but sadly I wouldn't ever get that one passed by the minister of finance (even despite her agreeing it's hot)... It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
Hmmm, I couldn't find sub-$3k but you may be able to haggle close to it with dealers who have stock. If you're near Northern Sydney, I know that Hornsby Cycles had at least a couple in stock (M & M/L I think) as I was going to get my Small from them but I cancelled it before it came in. Worth a visit/call if that's your size I suppose? Visited MC Cyclery and they seem to be sticking to the Factory Backed price, which is fair enough. I hadn't realised there were 3 bike shops in Clarence St now! It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
TCR Advanced 0 (2012)

Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
I missed one? Clarence St Cyclery (Men & Women shops for Trek) something something Velo? (Wilier) MC Cyclery (Giant) & ????? It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!

There is one across the road from the Wilier shop. I think it's called Jet Cycle. 2009 - Current - BMC SL 01 [2009]

Re: TCR Advanced 0 (2012)
I dont think this is available in Aus or if its going to be, but it makes the TCR look pretty good in comparison. This the Defy version. ![]()
