I usually sit up and watch most of what they show of the Grand Tours. If I can.
Re: 2012 Racing SeasonFor those who haven't seen it, stage 7 of the Tour of Turkey:

Re: 2012 Racing Season
...another one, how many does that make this year?... a dozen or more?. Man they fall off a lot... http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/swift-o ... talia-team
Re: 2012 Racing SeasonAnd Rasmussen too. Will still start the Giro, but with stitches.
And now Canc has ligament issues in his shoulder as well.

Re: 2012 Racing Season
Watched this today on the trainer with Eurosport commentary. How amazing was it as he tried to put chain back on, then couldn't quite clip in. Brilliant.
Re: 2012 Racing SeasonI was watching the Nord pas de Calais (sp.) I haven’t seen it before on TV. I was interesting seeing Continental, Pro Continental and Pro teams going together. There was a moment where Gert Steegmans put in an effort and turned to a Continental rider to pull through. He was driving as hard as he could and shaking his head at the same time. He couldn’t close the gap. Kirby, suggested that there was a 2kmh difference between each of the bands, Continental, Pro-Continental and Pro. And you could see that as Giran (name) rode off the front of the break. Just left them behind. Now seriously how often can you ride away from the bunch at our level? It was good to see TT1 riders in there because NSCC has produced one. This gives me a benchmark to me, to him, to Continental, to Pro Continental etc. God I am hopeless by comparison.
I really wish they would show more of these races. So Perick Fredrigo (sp) was in this one and finished third. It is great to see these good riders showing how good they really are. Sometimes that gets lost when you see them in the TDF (I know Fredrigo picked up an amazing TDF stage a few years ago.)
Re: 2012 Racing SeasonSagan's kick makes everyone else look like they're not trying!
Re: 2012 Racing Season
He is something special and only 22! He can sprint like a real sprinter but can keep up on the hills. ![]()
Re: 2012 Racing Seasonand he takes another win.. green jersey material I reckon
Re: 2012 Racing SeasonGreat to see Mick Rogers back on form with two stages and the overall at Bayern-Rundfahrt

Re: 2012 Racing SeasonSagan has taken 3 of the 4 stages of tour de suisse so far. Took out the TT - he beat Cancellara (ok, he's probably still getting his form back) then takes the sprint stages - a sprinter that can TT? Crazy stuff.
Re: 2012 Racing Season
I'm looking forward to him taking on Cav at the tour, going to be interesting
Re: 2012 Racing Season
And don't forget his climbing ability too !!! Will make the green jersey comp interesting ...
Re: 2012 Racing SeasonSmart, too. Gave up on the HC climb at the end of the previous stage, leaving him fresh enough to pinch the next one from Greenedge.
Re: 2012 Racing Season
i think the sprinters often do well in the short TTs/prologues, where endurance isn't as much of an issue. although sagan is more than a sprinter, so it will be interesting to see how he goes in the longer Tour TTs.
Re: 2012 Racing SeasonSagan is showing his ability to finish even under less than perfect finishes, shoe came off one stage and last night was a bit choppy almost going into the barriers.

Re: 2012 Racing SeasonAnd apparently responded to a pressman's question with something along the lines of "I'm not beating Cancellara, I'm beating a Cancellara coming back from injury."
Can the kid do any wrong?
Re: 2012 Racing SeasonI think his being very smart and not getting ahead of himself, the sprinters aren't at this race and they weren't at ToC either so he has to keep his feet on the ground. Impressive none the less. Tonight should sort out the GC a bit more how much time will F. Schleck lose and were will Valverde finish?
