2012 Giro d'Italia2012 Giro d'ItaliaMichele Scarponi for the win. Frank might have a look in because pretty much no-one else is in form and riding it. Basso-no-no.
Now, to arrange my RAI subscription.
Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaThe Giro is the best tour. So hard to pick this year but I'm saying Cunego, he seemed to be coming to form with Kreuzinger a strong challenger if he can get time on the punchier stages prior to Stelvio day. That will be the day, can't wait.

Re: 2012 Giro d'Italia
He was off-the-back on the climb that Garobski (name?) won on the Tour of Turkey.
Re: 2012 Giro d'Italia
He's not listed to ride the Giro http://www.cyclingnews.com/giro-ditalia/start-list maybe you already knew that I like Kreuziger. ![]() FPR Ragamuffin
Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaI kind of forgot about the Jockey, he is clearly riding well. Gadret? Haven't seen him this year, but he did well last year.
Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaI think Kreuziger has a good shot but Basso will probably take it. The other guys I like the look of as outsiders for a top 5 are Klodi and Hesjedal and Cunego to top 3.

Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaWide open race, Basso has struggled just like last year but it would surprise me to see him build form through the race and the really decisive stages all being at the back end of the race he could do it. Kreuziger is in a bit of form but for some reason cant see him winning this one, dont think he has the legs to go with the climbers on the really steep long stuff. Scarponi for me seems the one most likely if you look at form and past performances, good classics and won last year*. To me the the TTT is going to be really exciting shame SBS isn't showing it as i reckon it will be GreenEdge's first GT win.

Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaSo week one is a lot of flat and some medium mountains. Cav, is he the one for the first week? Fast flat finishes, I can't see anyone beating him, except, no recent form. So many stars seem out of form this year.
Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaWhat time does coverage start tonight?

Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaI think 1 or 2 GC contenders will say goodbye to their hopes right there in Denmark. Stage 2 could be flat (stage 3 not so) but it's quite windy there pretty much all the time and on a really windy day, you can't ride your bike straight. If conditions are right, 2-3 teams will blow the whole thing up into pieces.
Re: 2012 Giro d'Italia
Esp Rabobank. Having learned it from HTC. Or Team Bernard Eisel.
Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaFronk is off to a good start. 0:59 down in the prologue already
Andy must be fretting like mad ..... Gossy sooo close. He'll get a win soon !!!
Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaHow many 2nd place's can Gossy take ?

Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaHorsens, Strandpromenaden - flat, flat, flat wide finish. Who do you think that will suit? With a 800m to 1km straight, flat lead in. Did I mention flat.
Cav and crash. Then a huge bus trip to Verona. I back the BMC team bus for this stage
Re: 2012 Giro d'ItaliaThere was a lot of jossling/bumping last night, no place for the fainthearted so I can't tip Tyler. Cavendouche from Goss again. Renshaw as the outside tip coz he thrives on that stuff.
