Tonight could be interesting as Goss can candle the climbs, his also saying his as light as his ever been. He is also in range of the Pink Jersey with the bonus seconds for the win, a much more interesting stage that last nights i think.

The finish was pretty straight forward only really one corner 900m to go (?), GreenEdge tried to come in on the Sky train but it was a bit late and Sky did a good job of keeping the pace high. Gossy had no chance to get ahead of Cav, I think it was alot closer than i looked Goss had some good speed its just not going to happen when your behind Cav. The Tour is going to be quite close i think OGE will have had more practise at this lead out business and maybe a couple of other strong riders there to help. Boberidge looks like he hasn't raced since the Herald Sun Tour (which he hasnt) and isn't really factoring in the lead outs much.

CAV looked pretty shagged at the end even had a sit down. Green Edge are pushing just got to get sorted a bit better. Cant really fault them, it must take a while to get a lead out train sorted. Cant wait for later in the season and next year to see some HTC style Trains

It will be interesting to see who is there at the end, given that quite a few people got dropped during Stage 5 (Hushovd, Farrar) that probably should have been there. Looking fwd to a lte night

This is one where some of the GC guys that are behind may have to come out an play their cards, or roll over and give up.

You would think that Scarponi would be looking to get some time back on Stage 7 , but its the Giro and because the Parcours are so stacked in the last week it could be a case of everyone sitting on there hands not wanting to show there cards to early.

I know it should be obvious, but what does the "TV" symbol indicate? Coverage on Eurosport seems to start earlier than that - yesterday's "TV" symbol is at about 45km from the end of the stage, but I'm sure the coverage started with 80-something km to go.

You would think a break would run clear on this, especially given how lazy the peleton has been. How straight was that road through Modena?
But, I think, Orica might try to roll this one for Matt Goss. It is a bit harder and you would think that Cav has got to be a bit tired. It would secure the red, a jersey that would mean a huge amount to a first year team. Not being partisan, it just makes sense I think.

Agree ft, Cav talked about how tired he felt yesterday, wonder how willing to work Sky will be tonight? Goss would be an excellent chance but it will be tough if GE have to do all the chasing, Bobridge is struggling. Garmin will have reason to work, but it does look a good shot for the breakaway.

Stage 5. So I have lost count of how many times Taylor Phinney has fallen. But there was this shot of him being hit by the mirror of a team car… Luck, sometimes you just don’t have any.
There is a bit of, Goss is the best of the rest to Cav. But, he came round Sasha Modolo of Colnago and got to Cav’s shoulder before Cav ground away that extra half bike length. I reckon they are close to equal. I think if Cav is two behind and Goss goes, Cav would struggle. Mark Renshaw’s comment about HTC backs this up. If everyone is trying to work off your train it is a big advantage. That is, the team controlling the sprint has the advantage. Sometimes it doesn’t matter, but when you have two pretty well matched sprinters, as I think Goss and Cav are, it is everything.
