Hi All,
Just wondering if any one knows if there is a cycling club around the Caroline Springs area at all?
I believe there is a Brimbank group (BRIMBUG ?) in St Albans but wondered if there is another group/club closer to me?
Dave

I ride several bicycles, but not at once.

Thanks Toppity.
It looks like either Melton or Sunbury would be the closest (though at this stage of my cycling are both a bit too far to "ride-to" then participate, then ride home....so would require using the car to get there and back (which I was hoping to avoid).
I was hoping there might be somewhere closer but it doesn't seem to be the case.
If anyone else knows of others clubs that would be closer please let me know.
Thanks again...
Dave

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Caroline Springs always was designed as a car-centric suburb.DoogleDave wrote:Just wondering if any one knows if there is a cycling club around the Caroline Springs area at all?
I'd check out this group as you won't find anything any closer. Mind you, they will be a recreational/commuter group. Some look for racing when they're talking about clubs.DoogleDave wrote:I believe there is a Brimbank group (BRIMBUG ?) in St Albans but wondered if there is another group/club closer to me?
Mandatory helmet law?

Thanks il padrone.

This is true, though I was hoping there would be enough like-minded people in the area who like riding as a hobby/sport (not just as a way to commute to/from work)il padrone wrote:You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Caroline Springs always was designed as a car-centric suburb.
Not sure I'm quite up to racing at this point in time so probably more of a recreational group would be more suitable....but in time who knows.il padrone wrote:I'd check out this group as you won't find anything any closer. Excellent.
I found out the other day that the Melton Cycling Club are looking to try and incorporate a Caroline Springs ride every fortnight/month to try and include more people within the shire, which is great timing considering my post!
If we end up with enough CSprings riders we may even be able to make our own informal group for weekend rides etc. (just thinking out aloud...LOL)

Sorry to bring up an old thread. But thought it would be better to use this thread then create another.
I wanted to know if there were any group rides happening from Caroline Springs. Looked at the Melton Cycling Club but from looking at their Facebook and website it seemed like they were no longer active. It would be good to get some group training in during the week without having to drive out.
Thanks in advance
Ben
