Tops or sleeves with UPF
Postby shann » Tue May 22, 2012 3:48 pm
I am after some suggestions about sleeves or long sleeved tops that offer UPF 50+, without being designed for 'extra warmth'. I'm in no danger of freezing, but I'm desperate to stave off sunburn. At the moment I have a variety of long-sleeved jerseys, which get quite hot, and a set of elasticised lycra sleeve thingies designed for golfers. Neither is perfect. Any ideas?

Most good compression/surfwear brands have suitable products. Like knicks, there is going to be some trial and error.
Nike make some good lightweight sports garments, that aren't so compression orientated.

Aldi are about due for more cycling gear & usually have white sun protection sleaves when they have arm warmers

Ground Effect Rock Lobster. I wear one mountain biking up here in Darwin - it's a tad warmer than short sleeves, but I don't get burnt.
Fishing shirts look like a good idea too, if you're not fussed about not looking like a roadie.
