I'm in training.........for middle age.........
Re: Show us your super light road bikeI would guess 6kgs
One of the great frames around! Oppy Le Mauco - Dura Ace (wet weather bike)
Cervelo S5 VWD - dura ace Di2

That's a beauty. What size is it? How tall are you?

Re: Show us your super light road bike
The frame is a 58cm & I'm 187cm (6'1" (old skool). Shortish femur pulls me forward on the frame (low seat post), longish torso means long top tube + 110mm stem. The training bike is a 58cm compact design (sloping top tube = more seat post, photo below), definitely not a lightweight though at 7.6kg Popoy that is one "sic" looking Cervelo. Come on what does it weigh ? ![]() Last edited by ZepinAtor on Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:32 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Gas propulsion.......it's natural don't fight it.
Re: Show us your super light road bikeC'mon ... re-size those images - .../snnn ... in the [img] code, adjust it down - easily done.
Nice bikes though.
Re: Show us your super light road bikeA Dura-ace Parlee training bike...very nice.
I ride several bicycles, but not at once.
Re: Show us your super light road bike
On the re-sizing thing. Are they too large for your screen dimension wise ? or too large a file detail wise / or both ? I'm using a 27" wide screen which may look ok at my end ? I simply just copy the [img] code directly from photo bucket then copy/paste into my post. It looks ok on the ipad though which has a little tiny screen. Gas propulsion.......it's natural don't fight it.
Re: Show us your super light road bike
A 27" wide screen ?? Well, when I resize the screen to fit the whole photo in, the print is tiny. I'm using a pretty standard laptop, 13.5" wide. I'll stop complaining now.
Re: Show us your super light road bike![]() Qauntum 1.0, waiting on Dura - Ace crankset. 9.1 kgs on the bathroom scales... I hope they're wrong.
Re: Show us your super light road bikeSome sweet looking machines here folks, i'm just happy to have gotten my quota of bike p0rn for the week...
Re: Show us your super light road bikeupgraded afew parts on the Foil today, was feeling generous so swapped out the alloy stem/handlebars, replacing them with a zipp slc2 short & shallow carbon bar and an sl speed carbon stem and swapped out the saddle that came with the bike for an slr super flow 145 with titanium rails as i loved the previous selle italia seat it had just wanted to go for a black lighter version
also got the LBS to chuck on a set of 404's for shits and giggles so i could dream lol. i'll be getting a set of 60mm chinese clinchers though in the near future as the cosmics are letting the bike down abit! love the look with the 404's though makes it look so evil and stealthy forgot to get them to weigh it though might do it tommorow as im interested to know what it weighs now. <- with plastic wrapped 404's lol![]()

Re: Show us your super light road bikethanx man i love the addict you used to have and the foil u do now. i dunno what cages i want yet anything is better than the pov ones i have now!
Re: Show us your super light road bike
+1 to that, best looking Scott ever, especially in the black livery. As to cages, methinks something minimalist. You don't want to clutter those sleek lines. Something like THIS? ...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Re: Show us your super light road bikehmm i was thinking somthing in matte clear and UD carbon.
the new Scott cage looks nice but it only comes in yellow or red. Wish they'd release a black and white version ![]() This would be perfect but it's made of plastic. ![]() yes, I'm an overweight weight weenie

Re: Show us your super light road bikethanks for the suggestions guys
![]() got the bike weighed today, came in at 7.4kg, thought it would be abit less than that, ideally i would like to get it around the 6.5kg mark what do you think would be the best way to achieve this? first thing i can think of are the wheels which will be going soon hopefully and maybe changing out the ultegra for lighter sram red one day. this question is mostly directed at you pawnii lol.
Re: Show us your super light road bikeI'm pretty sure that Elite cage in your picture isn't made from carbon. It's made of fibre reinforced acrylic (AKA plastic).
It it was matte UD carbon I'd already have it on my bike Hitting 6.5kg from 7.4kg isn't easy. You'll have to be willing to change quite a few parts. An alternative option is hitting 6.8kg with deep dish wheels. This would be a nice aero/acceleration balance Wheels are always a good place to start. You'll can shed a lot of grams there but light/strong wheels aren't cheap. Personally I reckon only deep aero rims do the Foil frame justice. It's a shame Zipp 404's are so heavy...they do suit the Foil perfectly I reckon. Changing the to Sram Reds will shed you another 300grams at least but that's a huge investment. After owning a 5.2kg bike, a 5.5kg and now a 6.5kg bike I honestly don't think that the price you pay to get a bike under 6.8kg is worth it. BUT, if you really do wan't to hit 6.5kg then this is the order I'd do upgrading Wheels Tyres Tubes Saddle Peddles Brakes Crankset yes, I'm an overweight weight weenie
