Criterium du Dauhpine 2012

Postby MichaelB » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:30 am

OGE strike again !!!!

Turbo Durbo takes the prologue and Gerro is in 6th. Evans does well and is 9th only 6 seconds down.

Abandandy is 102nd, 29 seconds off the pace already

Oh, and fired a broadside a Big Johann about his use of the press ... definitely one big happy camp at RSNT

GreenEdge have really done a great job this year, way past what i thought they could achieve. Really some stage wins in the Tour and that's got to be every boxed ticked, if they manage to get Goss the Green Jersey that is the dream season.

Not taking away from Luke's jersey etc... But the big ride for me was Wiggo. He was obliged to go last and even though the road was dry for the final riders the wind obviously wasn't in his favour running so late... Impressive that he got so close to winning it!... Really hope he is coming into form this week ( and not peaking to early like last year! ).
Cadel also looked like he was giving it all... Never seen him bobbing around so much in a tt!.
Going to be interesting once the get to the climbs!... Grand Colombier & Col de la Colombiere on consecutive days :-) .

I thought Wiggam did well too considering the circumstances. But at this stage, OGE have Yellow, Green and White jerseys and are leading in team classification.

MB, definitely not happy families at Schleckshack. Johan must be pretty confident about his contract, or he doesn't care for the gig maybe.

Go Turbo. :D Early days, but three Aussies in the top 10; who woulda thought it a while ago.

It was great to see that Bruyneel's motivational speaking has had a powerful effect on Schleck the younger, either that or he is saving himself for the TdF

With the amount of TT kms in TdF, he's going to have to attack every single climb.

And win.

Not going to happen if Cadel keeps this form.

yay for Cadel !! Can't wait to see the telecast from last night.

I love this from the CN report
Also dropped, and more surprisingly, was Andy Schleck of RadioShack-Nissan. Riding next to Astana's Alexandre Vinokourov, the younger Schleck crossed the finish line more than three minutes after Evans, which will undoubtedly bring the next lecture from Johan Bruyneel.

Insert double facepalm de-motivational poster here.

Can't wait to hear Abandonandy's excuse for this one ....

The TdF 2012 is shaping up to be acracker between Wiggo & Cadel. If Abandonandy's TT skills are anything to go by, he'll have to make up up to 10 minutes for the TT's that are planned

Coming soon Andy Schleck staring in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" the remake.

The story of one mans quest to drop off the back of a peloton and find his missing brother. Look forward to love, tears and a furious DS as this drama unfolds against a stunning French backdrop. Cameo appearance by Johan Brunyeel!

Awww, dissapointingly Bruyneel is taking a conciliatory approach and that he really does love Abandonandy.
Recently it was reported that I said only Fabian Cancellara was guaranteed a spot on the Tour team. That is not what I said. Translations need to be correct. What I said was based on results Cancellara was the only one guaranteed to be on the Tour team," he clarified. "It takes nine riders to ride the Tour. Of course Andy will be there.

"I didn't expect to see that scenario at the end, but I've spoken with Andy," Bruyneel told the team's website post-stage. "What's clear here is that he's had a lack of competition. We know that. We come here with different intentions other than to win. The main goal is to see how Andy is going in the mountains. With a lack of competition in his legs, in theory we will see him getting better this week and by the end of the week we can see where he really is. It's definitely better if things like this don't happen but it isn't a disaster."

What? Cadel has raced about 10 minutes this year and came out and gave them a collective kicking.
