Just get a bunch of GC riders to make their own up, Ox made a nice template.

I suggest they all be the same "NOR 360", see if Mr Birdbrain gets it...

A great pile of cattle biscuits from Mr Nightingale
Im sorry you could not see properly the photo , however it shows a ccylist at a major intersection , no helmet, no front or rear lights , at the pre dawn hours and in dark clothes.

the photo was taken using a roof mounted camera approved by qld police to assist in identifying offenders on the roads.

yes australia wide there are that many deaths unfortunately, of those figures in every state 25 dead motorists are caused because they were taking evasive actions to avoid hitting a cyclist who was breaking the law.

I am sorry your belief is such that you have an unrealistic view on the way life is but if you can supply to me how bicycles can deliver 500kg of freight over a distance of 450 klms in 10 hours , please i am all ears.

The fact is a bicycle is a recreational vehicle with no other purpose to carry an individual a short distance in a long period of time.

You will find that we as professional drivers get more exercise, running, lifting heavy weights on a daily basis which would be much more than a cyclists gets in a week.

We have to endure weather no cyclist would venture into, and drive roads which are frequented by fools who both drive cars and ride bicycles who are arrogant and ignorant of all other road users and the laws that make us all safe.

Please express your opinions

And we are a Nation Wide association and the same recomendations are being talked with all transport ministers.

An SCA supporter spoke with Mr Nightingale today.
amongst his increasingly rediculous claims was the allegation that 4 courier drivers have been killed as a result of cyclists actions, and that SCA and I myself have personally been quoted as supporting the IDA's postion on cyclist registration.
This is now turned into something as incideous as it is rediculous. It has the potential to damage both the 24/7 fund's an SCA's reputations within the cycling community that support us.
On top of the fact that when called, neither the Gold Coast or Ipwsich Mayors' offices were aware of their apparent support of the IDA or Mr Nightingale. I can safely assume that nobody in QPS Traffic Branch would have to much time for an individual who makes Harold Scruby look like an incredibly sane and boring man.
Mr Nightingale is on notice.

It is now also known that Mr Nightingale is pushing to take the top spot at the IDA, so he is stupid enough that we will be hearing from him again.

If rego was introduced in QLD would touring cyclists bypass QLD when cycling around Australia? Or could there be a generic "outta state" plate that tourers could use as an exemption? I guess this would apply to any state/territory it was introduced in while not being a national thing (maybe if all but one state/territory gets it we can all take trips there to run red lights and other fun cool hipster stuff).

Way transparent agenda Birdbrain, you don't care who you pi55 off as long as the roads are clear for your badly driven white van.

Let's see if my comment gets published...

You're being kind. It shows the interior of the van in the foreground.

I think the guy either has a very tenuous grip on objective reality, or his concept of truth is erm, flexible.

Forward his response on to the paper and suggest they check their sources more thoroughly next time.

I'm sure Fairfax newspapers would happily expose this guy as a delusional tosser, so a blind copy to them might be worthwhile

He's obviously read the comments and posted his own which I'm sure will be published. He texted this to my phone:
"Saw your comments, had a laugh, posted a warning bout your validity as a group interested in safety".

LOL, you're welcome.

My comments directed to the "journalist" (I use the term loosely), lambasting her for failing to do even basic internet checks on the guy's background via google and ASIC's names registration search have apparently not passed the censor.

Please please please tell me you're not surprised at this? I've been published quite a bit over the years but never the bits commenting on poor journalism, regardless of the validity

nah, it's par for the course as you say. I've never had a comment like it published, and it wasn't my aim. But I'm happy to be surprised. :D It was more to send a message to the journo to lift their game.

The comments sections are only there to raise the temperature of the conflict -> draw more eyes to the page -> improve their hit count -> maintain or improve their ability to charge advertising rates.

I got a laugh out of Birdbrain's comment, really, that was the best he could come up with? You must be quaking in your boots womble, curled up in the corner sucking your thumb :) .

Couldn't decide which to use though. I'm right handed but my left thumb is better looking, so I'm sucking both and punching the keyboard with my nose.

He does all that on top of his 60 odd hours a week delivering parcels?

And he thinks cyclists are a menace?

Anybody got a fatigue management handbook they can send him?
