Did you have a yellow backpack? or wearing a yellow jacket of some sort?
I remember seeing someone that could be you doing repeats, well done ..... I was there too (on the 19 all the way ..... cadence got in the mid 30's for me) Next time I'll go and bench press at the gym

i saw a yellow backpack but wasn't me - i have a red backpack
repeats? not on the way to work. maybe one day.

just look out for the nutbag on the flat bar passing most people. tomorrow is a possibility for me again....
EDIT: and sounding like a steamtrain.

not that quick but there aren't that many fast bunnies. in commuting guise fastest time line to line is 11:33 (which by strava is 11:15)
but as I've done a harder gear this week, and still have to build strength, it been just over 12

Nice, still a good effort .... my PB is 9:47 ..... still chasing the sub 9 magic number ..... Lots of people out this morning ..... Only 1 fast one passed me but he was starting to pop at the channel ten tower and was tempted to chase but still has 2 more to go

wow - legs are obviously getting tired, this gear training better pay off - this morning was definitely not easier. and it was again slower than yesterday.

3 times this week, that's enough.

EDIT: and still only 1 person went by me.

What's with this?

Looking at the strava segment it looks like it starts a bit late, but not 15 seconds late. Seems to finish in the right spot as well... :|

Had a go today and got 8:43 (8:30 in strava), aiming for sub 8.

i actually thought it started right but finished early.
3 days off the bike and it hurt like hell - still doing it in the harder gear (it's meant to be good for me). it my slowest time ever, but i made it

While my times will never match those that some of you guys are achieving, but anyway, I went up on Sat morning and shaved more than a minute off my previous best time....gotta be happy with that! I haven't been up since the challenge in March, and then followed it with a lap up Mt Gravatt later in the ride :D

With all this talk about the Strava segment being wrong, why hasn't anybody replaced it or put in a new segment?

The segment is spot on. It finishes early ... At the top of the channel two driveway but that's where it finishes in the challenge.

pain this morning - made it all the way up in 34-19

almost had a stack at the start of the decent on the first left hander - got into a lean and kept pedaling and the left pedal hit the ground.

on a vaguely related note, has anyone been up the powerful owl trail? I went for a run up there on the weekend, it's pretty ridiculous. Mad props to anyone who can get up it on a bike

not many people out this morning (state of origin hangover?).
gear 34-21 today
had one guy get by me just before the top and we both put a bit of effort then - he to the strava line, me to the line on the ground. perfect weather

Walked up the Powerful Owl a lot during focused wt loss periods. Coming down is more of a challenge. Never ridden it, and never intend to being on the wrong side of 50.

damn, I'm surprised there are that many who've done it! A lot of the little rises have got to be at least 25%, probably more.

lol. I'm 21st on that, the climb isn't all that hard it's just hard to keep weight on the back wheel otherwise you just spin and do a slow motion fall. No idea how that guy got 7 minutes though. That's impressive!

Any of you guys managed to ride up kokoda? Tried it twice and it's beaten me twice

because Herzo is a national level Elite road racer, a ridiculous amount of training will give you that time.
