You shouldn't look at a German car ever again then....usernameforme wrote:bit more expensive with lower spec, but it was a known brand name on the downtube

Two weeks ago I ran over something at high speed in the dark on my morning commute - looking at another cyclist up ahead instead of looking at what my lights were revealing on the road. I was thrown forward and lost my grip on the bars, almost coming off the bike! Got pinch flats on both wheels even though they were at 100psi. I thought there might be damage to the fork or the nice Reynolds wheels, but all is ok.
Bicycle Network Victoria's "Ride On" magazine did a review on the bike in their latest issue (Aug-Sep 2012). They found the frame to be too stiff for their liking. Great for high speed downhill stability, but not so great for comfort or feedback. I disagree and am very happy with the frame.

The bike isn't my cup of tea, looks very bland and like a generic run of the mill job, but good intro do electronic shifting I guess.

Gonna be a step up though from my 9.5kg Kona Zing with 105!! My front derailleur on the Kona is really crap and keeps dropping the chain no matter how finely I adjust it, so I'm gonna be so happy to have a front shifter that works beautifully.
