hi all
looking for a 20" fork for the front of my anura. inch and an eighth steerer. and maybe ability to fit racks and mudguards. any recommendations for a source?

I have one here you can have it if it suits. It's new, unused and chromed. It doesn't have brake bosses but they won't be needed on an Anura.chuckchunder wrote:hi all

Yep happy to bring it back. ETA is Sunday if my car makes it

Darn. Foiled.
Just checked it and the wretched thing is a one inch so won't cut it.
I made a 20" fork complete with brake bosses from a 26 fork for my low racer.
I cut off the dropout with a bit of tube attached, shortened it and welded back. Works a treat.
Perhaps you could do the same.

bonza guys, thanks for the offer John and Stuart......you have given me inspiration John, have a really nice MIG welder at work, so might just have a go....
you're right Poit, sproingy fork is definitely out of my league.
really wanting to get away from the BMX monster forks. they don't suit things like Reelights and computer magnet pickups. I've built a dynohub wheel and didn't have spokes to suit 16", so 20" it is. It fits in the fork, but only just, and only with a 1.35 or smaller tyre.
anyway, will hunt up a MTB fork and start cutting

I had a friend with a supply of recall MTB forks that I was using for a while.
They had a straight 1" round blade and the drop out was just a 45 degree angled plate welded across the bottom of the blade.
Easy to shorten and re weld (TIG) but you might need to do some cuts up at the crown and reweld to get the width for hub.
