Hi, just a few pics of my Cannondale build up Started with the bike I picked up from evil bay Stripped it when it got home Decided on Phantom black for the forks and stem And Ultimate Green for the frame Pearl The proud painter Part assembled with the original 105 groupset Then I stumbled on a Tiagra groupset 9 speed on allclassifieds for a bargain Downtube Giant stem painted SRAM 8 from a 9 on a 126mm hub Tiagra crank BBB speed bar with cannondale cork tape Drivers side crank Hopefully this in the right place (20 plus years young!!!)

I really like that paint effect. Mind sharing how you did that? BTW, I ride an old Cannondale too. Tony

Cheers Tony... It's quite easy... All done with pressure packs (rattle cans).. Lay down the base color, the lay down the pearl over the base once this is done lightly sand back with 600 then lay on 5 ~ 6 light coats of clear. I googled the paint code for the Ford RS color then I went into my local auto paint store and they made up the two tins (I had some clear at home)... While I was in the store they had a specials bin with a tin of the phantom black in which I also bought for forks and stem This is the original crank I painted before I purchased the Tiagra groupset

Boy, didn't she scrub up nicely Always was a fan of the smooth welds on the US built 'Dales.

The paint colour really suits the frame and I also like the aesthetics of the build too. Very nice job.

Excellent work. Most important question though, how does she ride?

awesome awesome job, also a very big fan of these dales. I believe this model was also one of the higher end crit models back in the day. still kicking myself for letting one go in my size for wayyy too cheap

try autobarn. you need to ask for it and it will be made specifically for you. you won't find it on the shelf.

Thanks for the great comments... In the sun the paint looks awesome... And the ride is nice and smooth (been riding just on my street as I was waiting for my SPD shoes to show up - finally showed up today!!) Since I posted the orig pics I landed some Felt rims which I put on so I now have 18 gears and the 105s on Arayas have been donated to the Pace bike... I have the Syntace bars which are now phantom black but I am still tossing up if I should put them on...
