Cold is OK, but cold wet and dark? Only for Tasmanians. Or Melbornians.

I did see some glimpses of blue sky today....hoping that it's dry enough to ride to work tomorrow, it would be nice to ride again.....

Very ethereal on Mt Coot-tha today, fog and mist in abundance.
Did see 3 cyclists mid-morning, one walking in the rain, one fixing a puncture in the rain, and one with dual suspension and no such worries.

As I wait for a Job to appear (currently unemployed) I was going to go out to Bunnings on the bike and drool over what i can't afford at the moment. Dame rain
They say it might be cloudy tomorrow, I hope

And the river loop was deserted at 5am. But a beautiful day never the less.

Extra base-layer is much more useful - I don't end up feeling like a roast chicken in a bag.

Mine is extremely breathable so I don't overheat.

It was a great morning despite the temp. I thought that it was a bit quite on the loop this morning too, lovely watching the moon set and then the sunrise while enjoying the very quite roads.ValleyForge wrote:Today was the coldest I can ever remember riding in: 2.8 degrees apparent/4.3.

it seemed really cold to me until started to climb up Mt Coot-tha
Near the summit cafe it was relatively warm and sunny just after sunrise.
But descending near Legacy tunnel worker's carpark all of a sudden hit the cold air at 60 km/hr
Quite an incredible paradox that it can be several degrees warmer on the summit of a mountain.
I am sure there is a scientific explanation.

I was on the mountain this morning too! The garmin said 3.6 at the base and 9.6 at the summit. Yep... Breaking through the inversion on the way down always amazes me how you go from warm to freezing in 50 meters!elantra wrote:How cold was it this morning ?
