Not the lightest or fastest out there, but I like how it looks and it will do me for now :)

I actually don't mind the 12K carbon either..

Dayum Busta. If that's your first roadie, you're going to be so very addicted in no time. Just make sure you sort out the fit properly - seat position (forward/back), angle, and height are critical, as is cleat position.

thanks for all the comments :D

Mezla, thanks for the tips. I've tried my best by measuring absolutely everything and then punching it all into http://www.wrenchscience.com/ to give me some basic setup info to start with. Being my first road bike, I'm not actually sure how it's 'supposed' to feel, so definitely want to get a proper fit done at some stage. On my first ride out, I noticed that i was sitting right on the front of the seat and it was quite painful. If I forced myself back so that my sit bones were on the wider part of the seat it was much more comfortable, so I've made some small adjustments to get that working better for me but realistically I've got no idea what I'm doing interms of fit/setup.

As an extremely rough guide as to how i set up my bikes, i chuck my shoes on jump on my bike and make sure with my hips parallel that the heel of my shoe just touches the pedal with my leg straight, as for seat fore/aft adjustment i make sure im sitting comforatbly on my seat then with my pedals horizontal i look and make sure that i have a straight line running from the front of my knee through the center of the pedal, and also i make sure my seat is dead flat.

Obviously this setup wouldnt work for everybody but it is a good starting point and works great for me.

Also it can be helpful to have someone help you when you are setting your seat fore/aft as it can be quite difficult to gauge where you knee is in relation to your pedal just by looking down onto it.

Been a while since I have visited.

In April I found a crack in the frame of my Trek and needed a new frame or bike in a hurry. A Cannondale CAAD10 with 105 suited my budget. After I had stripped the 105 gear, wheels, bars, stem and crankset and sold most on ebay then fitted my Force groupset, wheelset, new cables etc and now I have what I think maybe a better bike than the Trek.

Build is:
Frame = 2012 CAAD10 54cm
Fork = 2012 CAAD10
Headset = OEM
Brakes = SRAM Force
FD = SRAM Force
RD = SRAM Force
Cables = Yokozuna Reaction
Chain = KMC X10-SL Gold
Cassette = Ultegra 6700 12 - 25
Seatpost = Bontrager Race light carbon
Saddle = Prologo
Crankset = 2012 Force BB30 53/39
Pedals = Speedplay Zero Cr-Mo
Cages = Elite
Wheels = Dura Ace WH-7850-SL
Tyres = Schwable Ultremo
Tubes = Vittoria
Handlebars = Ritchey WSC EVO Curve wet white (about to change to wet black)
Stem = 115mm Ritchey WSC 4 Axis wet white (about to change to WSC 260 wet black)
Levers = SRAM Force
Tape = Fizik Microtek Black

Weight as you see it = 7.4kgs

Here is my Fuji Roubaix Pro (2008) (first roadie) which I purchased a couple of years ago off a forum member. Its just hit the 10 000 km mark, so time for some new tyres (Conti GP4000S) and some replacement tape (nice spongy soft white tape to dress it up).

It's a mixture of Ultegra and 105 running gear with an Ultegra wheelset.

There are plenty of better bikes around, but I have grown to love this bike after spending many many hours on the saddle. (and to be honest it goes too well to justify an upgrade).

Enjoy.

Look at the "share" button above the photo on flickr. Click on "Grab the HTML/BBCode" and then hit the "BBCode" button. Paste that in to your message and you'll get:

Lovely looking bike Steve. I do like the traditional shape of the Fuji frames. Just a query but why is your saddle sloping down so much?

Good question..I set up the bike when I got it around 2 years ago and this saddle position seemed to work for me. Truth be told I havent adjusted the seating or handlebar position at all in that time..Maybe I should consider some adjustments. I'd welcome any suggestions you have.

cheers
