depends what size engine you get, but most of them will out drag most cars from the traffic lights. but vespas are kinda pricey, your paying for the name and that italian chic.
Still better than anonymous Japanese sewing machines Richard can we consider this thread hijacked yet?
New bikeHi guys,
Yeah, it has moved a bit away from my original question... but good fun! Love those Italian scooters!!! Speaking about Italian machines..... I finally made my decision! I took my lovely Sandra out for lunch Saturday and on the way I casually slipped in, "Oh by the way, can we just call in and have a quick look at a couple of bikes?" I showed her the Giant OCR C2 ("No: too common"), the Specialized Allez Comp ("No: looks too much like a Coke can"), the Avanti Giro ("Not bad"), and finally the Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu/Carbon Veloce mix ("Buy it, it's beautiful!!"). So, I ordered the Bianchi today.... the dealer is tracking me down an '07 in Celeste. I'm more excited at 52 about this bike than when I got my Malvern Star for my 10th birthday!! Thanks very much for all the great advice. Wayne
Now that's a cunning method that hasn't been mentioned on this forum before.

New bikeYeah, I thought I was SOOOOO cunning and clever by "accidently" calling into the bike shop on our way to lunch........ After all, the cost of lunch is a small price to pay for a new bike!
However, these women aren't THAT easily fooled, as I found out! After she said to go ahead and order the bike I got hit with, "Now mister, about that weekend away at the Daylesford Spa, complete with the massage and all 'works'!!!!" Damn, I'd been had!! Bloody women! Hehehehe Oh well, at least there's some nice MTB trails around there.... better throw the Spesh in the Nissan! Wayne
New BikeHi guys,
Well, I picked up the Bianchi today......... it is absolutely beautiful!!! Damn, it's pretty!!! Spent the afternoon fitting up computer, toolbag, bidon cage, etc. Will take her out for a spin in the morning... can't wait! Once again, thanks for all the valuable advice I received from forum members. Wayne
