TDF viewing plans

i work regular (8-5) hours so get home reasonably early. my simple solution is -
have light meal in the evening and then go to bed early, say 8:30 pm but set the alarm to 11-ish pm.
i then wake up and watch till the end of the stage then go back to bed
if all else fails, the HDD recorder is set as a back-up ...
thankfully wife just leaves me alone during this times ...

I've got the next week off work- so that's already sorted - but after that this is pretty much my exact plan as well.

On another note ... I'm really *NOT* a fan of the new Greenedge uniform! Bleh ...

Is there an app or something which lets us see the rider telemetry? ie. Heart Rate, Cadence, Speed?

Fell asleep before the end of last nights finish... I find it hard to watch the entire stage & then get up & ride to work... May try what's been suggested, go to sleep early & wake for the last hour or so... But I think I will struggle to nod off early...

Am thinking of taking week 3 off work. Just because I can... And that is always the best week, in my opinion...

leave work at 3pm, go home, get bike and luggage and proceed to airport.

board plane for zurich. overnight a zurich

drive to Porrentruy

ride to stage 7 finish at La Planche des Belles Filles

ride stage 8, watch finish at Porrentruy

follow tour for next few days

Sadly, Shergett make so many mistakes it is embarrassing. I think to the brand new viewer, they are probably fine, but after god knows how many TdFs and other races, I am sick to death of them. If Paul isn't explaining how hard a man he is, Phil is banging on about something we have heard a thousand times before.

It would be a difficult job though. Even Harmon, Kirby, Kelly and Smith on the other channels aren't perfect.

I think that I might flick over to one of the Eurosport feeds during tonight's stage, just to see how it compares.

If nothing else, at least it means that I might be able to get away from the ReadyAnytime commercials.

I am worried that I have peaked too early, great effort for first week but will I have the endurance for the big mountains?

I'm going to watch tomorrow's stage either from the slopes of the Col du Grand Columbier, or from the finish in Bellegarde-Sur-Valserine.

Undecided.

I think the Col du Grand Columbier should be good though.

Am hopefully going to ride all the way up it in the morning, I think that will be fun.

So JV911 and roller are nearby tonight!... as much as I would like to head up the Grand Colombier tomorrow I only have a couple of days at home and no road bike... so will wander 100m down the road and find some shade to watch tomorrows stage .
