What Style Helmet
Postby Calais » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:25 pm
Hi all, great site you have here .
I just bought myself a Schwinn Panther 2012 cruiser. I also bought myself a skater/BMX style helmet, but it looks so odd I ride with it wrapped around the bars. Having a massive head doesn't help
I was wondering what style helmet other cruiser riders wear..

I woulda said something from XRated but on checking, I just found out they aren't approved.
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Seriously though I am unsure what you are asking.
It is easy to get helmets at a wide range of prices and they comply with the Aust and NZ standards.
If you are worried about looking daggy and want fashion advice then all you need to do is look at the helmets on hundreds of riders. Whatever they have, you will easily find ones similar in any LBS, K-Mart, internet.
I am mildly curious about how bad your existing helmet can be (anyone remember the Stak Hat?). Can you post a pic just for the hell of it?
And btw, welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome, and responses
I was just curious what others wore when riding their cruisers, that's all.
And no....no pic

Damn - I was hoping top see something truly hideous and memorable. I I don't pick the the laughable warmers that I wear so I guess I'll jut have to wait for Xmas to see what they inflict upon me and the riding public.Calais wrote:Thanks for the welcome, and responses

I'm going to get myself one of these, it's designed for snowboarding and may not meet Aus standard for cycling but it looks badass, especially in Stormtrooper white. The second picture is a selfie from Simon Pegg, he posted it on the twatters and linked up the companies site:
