Shogun on the wayPicture of frame I bought from LG down in Tassie. Then 3 pictures of the way it is now. Not completely finished, colour combos are a bit out but I used only bits I already had in the shed or on other bikes. Not too shabby. Rides beautiful, rear derailleur is 105, front old Dura-Ace, Wheels old Campag, Shifters shimano 7 speed idexed.

Just as well the weren't 4MP+, I'd have shed quiet tears. Very nice. Maybe it's my age, but something like that is a moving work of art. Nearly all $1K+ carbon bikes I'm totally indifferent to. Plastic bling. OK, it's my age... Ever noticed how quiet steel bikes are?
Re: Shogun on the wayTastefully done Al, give yourself a huge pat on the back.
Shaun ...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Re: Shogun on the wayWell done OA, I really dig this. Where'd ya get the decals?
Only improvement would be a DT to brifters upgrade for the convenience.
Re: Shogun on the way
Mungs, did you forgoe your usual stackhat and wear a raspberry beret whilst riding it in that incartion? Kym
All manner of half finished projects and a bit of randonneuring I used to be tech-savvy. Now I'm just tech-weary.
Re: Shogun on the way
Decals from this mob. http://www.vcgraphix.com/en/store/detai ... &invID=368 I think brifters would spoil the bike. The downtube index shifters shift perfectly every time. Al.
Re: Shogun on the wayNice work, and 10kg! Give me a steel roadie any day!

Re: Shogun on the way
Was thinking about this while out this morning. Tested it, sorta. Your arm swings in an arc from the brakes to the DT levers. I'm just so used to it over the years, took a while to get used to STI. About to be delivered, an early 80s (I think) with DT shifters. The Reno has STI. Now that'll be confusing. [oldandbewildered] Ever noticed how quiet steel bikes are?
