I don't think the break will survive but if it did, I suspect Stewie would have trouble winning- there is just too much talent in there!

As long as Stewie is in the break, the other Aussies get a free ride back in the peleton. BTW, what does the Aus jersey look like? I'm watching some stream in Arabic and I can't spot Stewie in the break. I hope he wasn't dropped.

I dont get this at all. Stewie has the best sprinting pedigree in there. Although that was in the past there arent too many great sprinters in there. There is talent but they are TTers and climbers.

He may not be the best sprinter currently in there but he does have the legs in there and I would never write stewie off.

Rogers is trying to bridge the gap! If he gets there, then it will be very interesting to see what the main group do.

Mick burning a lot of matches out there alone, not sure to what aim? GB and Germany not riding any harder and he's not gaining on the break. Maybe the purpose will become apparent but to me it looks to be ashing one of five for no gain? Hope I'm wrong.

Maybe trying to get up the road to help Gerro (or even Cadel) later on? Saving them for a leadout for Goss seems pointless given his recent form, unfortunately. They'd be racing for third at best.

Bit of sideline analysis, the Aussies seem to be doing a lot and also have more than their share of the spotlight with the efforts of O'Grady though if the English are the biggest challenger because of home advantage and potential to setup Cav, then they are riding a more composed race. Does it mean that the Aussies can"t set up Goss as well?

WIth the breakaway gap, this is small so unless something happens it it a sprinters finish so Greipel will be in there and is fairly independent so he can use the leadout by another team to then use this to strive for victory.

Will be interested to know about what Roger's is doing and if doesn't reveal itself during the race, I guess we will find out after.

I think during the last Olympic Mens Road Race were were discussing the branding here and how brands may or may not appear.

You can't interupt the Mens Cycling Road Race for Dressage though I personally am not convinced of the classification of this sport as an Olympic Sport.
