
I played with it on my iPad using local maps and it seemed to work well. It interfaces with the GPS and the maps are downloaded.
No Android version it seems
Could be useful for bicycle touring and of course other riding and walking.

Maplets - App for iphone and iPad usersCame across this app for the ipad and iPhone called Maplets via Bicyclenomad. It looks really interesting and could be handy for making use of local maps such as those produced by Councils and the like.

BTW, search iTunes and there are two offerings - Maplets and Bike Maps. It's not clear to me if there is any difference between them. I downloaded the Bike Maps version. Cycle touring blog and tour journals: whispering wheels...

On the iPad just to have a play I downloaded AusMaps. I assumed that there was map apps for various countries or one could download the whole thing. Andrew
