Couldn't find my flippers this morning so didn't ride.

Cold is OK, but cold wet and dark? Only for Tasmanians. Or Melbornians.

I have just seen the sun for a few minutes the first time for several days .... there's hope that I might get a dry ride sometime soon

The sun? What's that????

I did see some glimpses of blue sky today....hoping that it's dry enough to ride to work tomorrow, it would be nice to ride again.....

it's weird being nearly the only cyclist on the bikeway.. I still prefer riding in the rain to catching public transport.

BOM says a shower or two tmrw, then sunny skies for sat/sun :D

Another wet week in Bris.
Very ethereal on Mt Coot-tha today, fog and mist in abundance.
Did see 3 cyclists mid-morning, one walking in the rain, one fixing a puncture in the rain, and one with dual suspension and no such worries. :D

I got really excited this morning when i saw the fog as fog normally means a clear day.
As I wait for a Job to appear (currently unemployed) I was going to go out to Bunnings on the bike and drool over what i can't afford at the moment. Dame rain
They say it might be cloudy tomorrow, I hope

Today was the coldest I can ever remember riding in: 2.8 degrees apparent/4.3.

And the river loop was deserted at 5am. But a beautiful day never the less.

Very cold Bayside today. Headed out at 5.15, had complete body numbness by 5.17!! I guess this is the price we pay for these sensational clear sunny days.

Minus 6 yesterday in ACT. There were still some of us out riding. My water in my bidon froze.

I dream of a warm and balmy 1 degree.

I leave my wind jacket on the hanger.

Extra base-layer is much more useful - I don't end up feeling like a roast chicken in a bag.

I don't wear it often, but appreciate it on conditions like today.
Mine is extremely breathable so I don't overheat.

Just bloody windy again up here, great for the way out, but not so great on the way home. A day without wind would be nice for a change.

Cheers

It was a great morning despite the temp. I thought that it was a bit quite on the loop this morning too, lovely watching the moon set and then the sunrise while enjoying the very quite roads.

How cold was it this morning ?
it seemed really cold to me until started to climb up Mt Coot-tha
Near the summit cafe it was relatively warm and sunny just after sunrise.

But descending near Legacy tunnel worker's carpark all of a sudden hit the cold air at 60 km/hr :!:
Quite an incredible paradox that it can be several degrees warmer on the summit of a mountain.
I am sure there is a scientific explanation.

I think 4.2° C was the lowest reading this morning, but it felt colder.

I was on the mountain this morning too! The garmin said 3.6 at the base and 9.6 at the summit. Yep... Breaking through the inversion on the way down always amazes me how you go from warm to freezing in 50 meters!
