So where looking at 2018 until possibly seeing the Nationals run somewhere other than Ballarat, what do we think?

CA have taken over control of all the events run by Caribou Publications.jcjordan wrote:I could be wrong, but as I understand it CA has always had a say in what races constitute the NRS and that they have taken over the Championships (Road and TT).

Caribou ran all of the national level events that were not currently being run by CA (the scody cup series: gippsland, greater south coast, murray, tasmania, + launie to new norfolk, grafton, warnie + shipwreck. AND they run nationals)
So CA has taken control over what they did not control already.

The main reasion is that it could be a key part of the TdU festival a week before.
Plenty of near city courses that can include climbs, descents etc that would be a great challenge and easy for people to see, and not have to worry about semi trailers on the course ....

But the riders would have commitments with their teams as well. Also, I think we should spread the love around to promote cycling across the country.MichaelB wrote:I voted for Adelaide, of course.

It was held in Adelaide a long time ago, but did not get much support which is part of the reason why it has been so long in its current location.MichaelB wrote:I voted for Adelaide, of course.

Hopefully now that cycling has gotten some more traction in the minds of the major event organisers in each state CA will get more opportunities to add some variety to the course.

Will however be going to the TDU this year for the ride on the Friday and then head out on the course for the last few days. May as well utilise the FF points I have accumulated for something as I don't have enough to get to Europe on them.
