New Cycling Brands Forum Section

Postby AUbicycles » Fri Aug 17, 2012 12:34 pm

There are a lot of popular brands in Australia and the new Cycling Brands section helps get info and discussion on brands and their bikes / gear in one section.

Essentially we are concentrating on the larger brands or brands that are popular and are likely to see interest and discussion. I have started it off with some of the larger brands and but no means is the complete - infact it will always be a selective list tending to mainstream popular brands.

Getting your Brand Added
If you your bike and think that a lot of others love it too, then in the Forum Feedback (Cycling Brands - Brand Requests Thread), please submit the brand for consideration.

Commercial participation
Industry experts, retailers and brands are always welcome - as long as the forum isn't used for promotion / advertising. Positive involvement can mean answering member questions on equiptment and providing feedback. As this isn't a sales marketplace, advertising and promotion is spam and spammers are quickly banned. If in doubt, ask a moderater or email info@bicycles.net.au before posting. The general rule is that if a genuine members has asked a question and a response is on-topic, then it's fine. Best is disclosure "I am the manager at brand XYZ". If in doubt, ask first.

Naming and Shaming
Anyone posting the sole purpose to discredit a brand or business will be banned and their posts removed. If you do have an issue, be polite, fair and resolution orientated. It is preferred that the Australian Bike Shop (retaile) is not named as in a dispute you are usually only presenting your side of the argument and you may be right or wrong. Furthermore in this instance the reason to name a shop is to discredit a business and lands everyone in hot water.

However, we welcome praise, if your bike shop is great, if the brand has looked after you then let everyone know who the good guys are.
