Bike fitting MELBOURNE

Hi,
I'm looking for recommendations for bike fitting in Melbourne to help with performance (road/cx racing), comfort and also ideal frame size leading to a custom frame build next year.
I've found plenty of bike fit info on the net (to the point of frustration), and quite a few places, but none that have any independent reviews. The only name that does reappear is Steve Hogg, but a trip to Sydney is not an option.
The Retul system at Body Care Solutions seems quite comprehensive, and BG fit looks good but I'd prefer to use a physio/experienced bike fitter as I have a history of back problems (regular stretch and pilates classes keeping it mostly under control). I'm not sure that any who use these systems are physio's.
Emma Colson at Top Bike could be an option. She seems to have plenty of credentials but I can't find any reviews or references and she doesn't seem to be in the country that often?

Does anyone have experience with a consistent, reliable fitter/physio in Melbourne?

Not quite understanding the fitting then going custom plan, cos the custom makers can fit you anyway - say Baum or Gellie depending on your preferences.

Emma Colson is very thorough and you get the physio background, rather than a 'fitting course'. There's a couple of other accredited physio/cycling specialists too, but she's done a lot of fitting. Lots of people are happy with Carl at Cycle Science in Mitcham; cheaper but good knowledge.

The priority is to get a better fit on my current bike for comfort and hopefully a some performance improvement.
Advice on ideal frame size is secondary because I'm starting to question whether my current frame is the right size for me.

It'll be a while before I can commit to something custom but if I can see/feel some major improvement after a professional fit, even if it involves changing frame size in the interim, then I'm sure some of this info could be partly used as reference when I'm ready for a custom build and I'd feel a lot more confident when throwing down all that cash that I'm getting exactly the right frame for me.

I tried to see Emma this year and was advised she was having a break to have a baby.

She referred me to Rosie, who has been great:

It does open a can of worms tho, particularly if you are carrying an injury. Weeks of physio, MRI scan, and a new bike later.....

Baumy is god when it comes to fit. You wouldn't ask him to advise on a frame size, but if you put the money down he'll do the fit and it will be better than sex. But yes, going custom does require some bravery cos you do have to take the plunge in the end.

Gazza. It's some sort of group of physios who specialise in cycling but you'd have to ask him about the details. I'm worried that he seems to know something about running and even rugby, but I found him good as a cyclist in spite of that.

If you are spending the quantum required for a Baum, why not take a day off work to go to Steve Hogg in Sydney? I did and got the fit/geometry that I then took to Baum. Best thing I have ever done!

Defintiely understand the can this could open but I'm willing to invest the time (and coin) if it'll get me results. I''m probably due for an updated MRI (L5-S1 discectomy few years back)

Yeah, you're probably right. A little extra $$$ to almost guarantee a perfect fit on a frame for life.. not a bad idea.
This won't be until next year so plenty of time to factor this in.
